330 ml can. Hazy brown color. Pillowy beige head. Sweet toasted malt aroma hints at brown sugar. Sweet, toasty malt flavor upfront. Notes of caramel and spice. Herbal, bready, dried fruits and candi sugar. Earthy finish hints at cherries.

12 oz. can, from Veteran's. Pours an unclear, reddish, brown color, with a big, frothy, beige head. The aroma is toffee, brandied cherries, strong tannins, and soy sauce. Sweet and sticky, and a little acrid. Medium body, with a thin, acidic mouthfeel. Unfortunately, this tastes off.

Can: Poured a deep murky brown color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of candi sugar with light caramel ester notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is a good mix of candi ester with some caramel notes and light toffee notes with some residual sugar notes. Body is about average e for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. Very enjoyable but closer to a mix of quad and bock then a straight German bock.

Bought as a single, cuz I saw the date on the bottom of the can.

Gorgeous pour, a bit hazy deep amber with over a finger of foam. Excellent lacing.

Malty perfumey nose. The age of the beer comes into play. Light spicing is there and welcome.

Malty with a spicy hop character in the taste. Some metallic notes and a noticeable tartness that grows during the session.

Body is good and I reckon that this was a solid example of the style when it was fresh. Okay, the date is October 26th, 2017.

It just showed up in town so someone screwed up big time, eh?

11.2 oz can received as day 4 of a 12 day advent mixed pack from my wife. Canned on 26/10/17. The pour is a mostly clear brown copper with a small light tan head. The aroma is caramel nutty malt and herbal floral. The taste is sweet apple fruit, caramel sweet, toast and nut malt, and finishes with sweet floral. The palate is light bodied, spritzy carbonation, grass sweetness and a bit of cardboard to the finish. Likely better with less age on it.

Almost like a abbey dubbel/doppelbock hybrid. Floral yeast vibes with some light roast and a little tang. Some citrus as well. Nice stuff. Proper trappist. Bottle.
