Stark und samtig. Ein Mordsdrumm von einem Bock.
Kenner und Freunde unseres Bocks freuen sich jedes Jahr auf den Oktober – denn da beginnt die Bockbierzeit. Nicht nur die goldgelbe Farbe dieses Bockes lässt dabei nochmal Erinnerungen an den Sommer aufleben, sondern auch sein reiner, edelhopfiger Duft und das angenehme Malzaroma. Das Einzigartige an diesem Bier ist sein ambivalenter Charakter: Einerseits samtig, fast ölig im Trunk, zeichnet es sich andererseits durch schlanke, herbliche Hopfigkeit aus. Ein gestandener Bock eben. Und was für einer!

Pours clear, pale yellowblonde. Medium sized head, medium to medium low stability. Smell is rich, bready pale malts , bit cereal, mild grassy / spicy / noble style hops. very light , allowed notes of DMS. Taste is medium to medium high intense, very malty ( cereal, white, soaky bread ) mild metallic note. Very hoppy, i'd say ( noble style hoppyness ) crisp malty aftertaste. Pours unclear blonde/ yellow. Creamy, stable white head. Smell is fruity. taste is sharp, fruity, floral, bit bitter. Mildly aromatic. Not bad at all . medium carbo and MF.

(Thank you!) Sampled draft @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2017. Golden, orange, big creamy white head. Nose is nice oily green hoppy hop oil. Taste is green hop oil, vegetable oil, oily grain, bread, nice vegetable hop oil profile that I got in their other beers. Nice one.

Clear blond beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty, grains, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter, grassy, bit malty, sweet touch. Aftertaste: very malty, bit sweet, grains, soft bitterness.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.5%. Clear golden colour, moderate white head. Slightly sweetish but pleasant aroma of light malts and floral and herbal hops, hints of honey and newmown grass. The flavour is slightly sweet, but not too much, distinctly malty, but also with distinct floral and herbal hops, and a bitter finish.

Slightly darker than golden, visible carbonation and the slightest bit of haziness. Big and pretty dense head, good retention and lacing. Aroma shows cereal and white bread, slight honey, refreshing lemony and grass notes, flowery hints. Taste follows the aroma; starts moderately sweet with perfect balance between bready/cereal malts and grassy notes, finishes delicately bitter with a kiss of flowery hops. Body is quite on the light side for the 6.5%abv, moderate crispness, overall the beer feels gentle and slightly oily. Pretty fine and highly drinkable heller bock.

Bottle from Getränke-Oase. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is sweet grains and citrusy and herbal hops. Hints of caramel, but really just hints (who could expect more considering the color?), and a bit of starch. Taste is sweet grains with a bit of herbal hops. Rather high carbonation, but not in a bad way. The ingredients are all there, you can taste some nice hops, but it just doesn’t work out properly. Tastes like a slightly stronger German Pils. A prime example of how easy it is to make a boring Heller Bock, even when you are a really good brewery. Not to be too mean, though - it still is perfectly drinkable, just nothing too memorable. 6-2-6-3-12Holzfass at the brewery in December 2017 - as expected, this is much better, fresher, and more drinkable. Not a prime example of a Heller Bock, but a damn solid one. 7-3-7-4-14

16oz bottle. Hazy light yellow-tan body. Foamy, frothy white head. Deep fruity lager notes, some oxidation, age. I had hoped this was freshish, but I’m guessing this is quite old. Deep fruity lager notes, bready. Earthy noble hop balance. Probably really nice fresh, but a little lackluster in this condition. Bottles should have born on dates.
