250 ml. bottle. Bonus points for the movie reference. Black, dark, deep solid mocha head. Nose is burned plastic, burned rubber, peated, alcoholic, ash tray, cigarettes, liquid smoke, BBQ sauce,… Tastes like plastic, peated, ash tray, weird sour rubber pineapple, burned plastic, burned rubber, ash tray, burned cigar, soy sauce syrup, liquid smoke, BBQ sauce. Soy sauce & burned body. Why does this tastes like bruned plastic, soy sauce, ash tray, liquid smoke? What a bummer.

Bottle. Dark brown color, dark yellow foam. Aroma: peat, caramel, burnt, ash, iodine, prunes, whisky. Taste: creosote, ash, pineapple, sour, caramel, smoked whisky, strongly, powerfully, severely.

Pours oily black. Complex, almost hostile nose with fruit vs booze vs burnt coal. Oily in mouth. Very alcohol forward, with pineapple definitely there alongside oak and real sherry pushiness. Shouldn't work, but does.

Bottle shared by craftmember, cheers! Now here's a weird concept: a stout with pineapple aged on both whisky and cognac barrels... Cobweb-lacing, pale yellowish beige, moussy head, jet black robe but a bronze hue becomes visible in the very end. Aroma of peated whisky (iodine), black chocolate, dried porcini, coffee powder, cognac, fresh fig or perhaps indeed pineapple, toasted walnuts, pear, aniseed. Sweetish onset, raisins, fig, pineapple aroma very subtle, softish carbo, thick and viscous mouthfeel. Nutty, toasted, thick malt body, bitter chocolate, resiny finish with peppery spiciness, drying wood tannins and retronasal smoky peat; ends, unsurprisingly, in warming, whisky- and cognac-like alcohol, boozy but not overly astringent, with toasted maltiness lingering. Interesting, unusual beer, fascinating concept but I'm afraid the pineapple is almost completely drowned in the thick black bittersweetness of the style - might work better in a lighter beer, both in colour and in strength... Very enjoyable nonetheless.

Pours black, small to none off white head. Smell is smoked, roasty malts. Black malts. Taste is mildly tart, trough the smoke even a bit plastic. Dont really get the pineapple. The smoke ruins the beer for me.

Bottle picked up from a shop in Utrecht, consumed at home, Sunday 19th November 2017, at the end of the week of Loz's 50th and my 49th Birthday. Listening to Idles - Brutalism (will it make the cut) Pours black as yer 'at the aroma is a Islay but not overwhelming. It's hard work the barrel ageing does little for me and I don't like Islay, I don't get pineapple,it's so smokey actually I lie I am getting pineapple but, yes it's not my thing at all, sorry but life's too short.
