Appearance: Off white tightly packed, lingering head. Extravagant lacing. Moderate carbonation. Gorgeous chestnut brown color.
Aroma: Great balance between malt & hop aromas. Noticeably distinct classic American hop aromas of citrus and red berries. Malt aromas of sweet caramel & chocolate, alongside a whiff of toasted bread.
Flavour: Upfront citrus from the hops, especially lemon & orange, followed by a wave of chocolate before a satisfying wave of hop bitterness to finish. Very satisfying. Notes of toast & coffee almost reminds me of a tropical Ethiopian coffee – while the more dominant citrus meets chocolate character of the beer is reminiscent of a lemon & chocolate tart.
Mouthfeel: Well rounded, moderate carbonation, smooth & medium bodied. No harshness & a well-balanced bitterness. Super drinkable.

Can. Hazy ruby body with a medium beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of copper, earth, ash and a hint of chocolate. Flavour of orange, dried leaves, treacle and bitter hops. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Rather tasty.

Can, from Sourced Market, St. Pancras. Drunk on the train. Presumably brown. Nice hoppage to it. Some grapefruit and light resinous notes. Hint of dark malts. Taste is soft bitter. A little malty sweetness. Feels a tad thin. The bitterness rises and lingers. Ok. Went well with a Lina Stores frittata.

Can at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours clear brown with reddish highlights and a thick, frothy tan head. Toasted leaves in the aroma, a little orange peel, burnt grains. Light to medium sweet flavor with an almost aggressive bitterness, some earth, charred coffee grounds, pine, a little baking cocoa, more citrus peel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with ashy toast, bitter earth, hard and bitter dark chocolate, scorched grass. The balance seems a little off here - it’s just a bit too bitter. The drinking experience improves somewhat as the beer warms, or perhaps it’s just my palate getting used to the intensity of the bitterness. Overall, OK.

Can from Trafalgar Wines, Brighton and drunk at home. Dark brown beer with lasting tan head. Hoppy malty aroma, just like an American Brown. Pretty tasty, but lacks a little depth in the malts. A little one dimensional. Some hoppy bitterness on the finish. A brown IPA? Who knows. OK.

Can at the Croydon Craft Beer Fest 2015. It pours dark brown with a thick light tan head. The nose is toasted pine, light caramel, earth, cocoa, dried fruits, resin and earthy roast. The taste is bitter, earthy roast, toasted nuts, coffee grounds, light spice, touch of citrus peel, pine and mild caramel with a dry, toasty finish. Light - medium body and moderate+, prickly carbonation. Not bad, perhaps lacks a touch of body. Decent.

Keg at the brewery. But brown coloured pour with a lasting light cream coloured head. Aroma is nutty malts, slight perfume. Piney hop on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of brown bready and nutty malts, carbonic acid and pine needle hop. Palate is highly carbonated, spritzy carbonation, little sweet. OK.
