A very nice beer. Smooth and boozy, nice barrel aging. But not a big big beer. Not a lot of the typical dried fruit from a pure barleywine. Bottle shop Amsterdam

0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before November 2021, cellared for over a year. Slightly hazy, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, raisins, plums, whisky and light vanilla. Rather sweet, malty, gently fruity taste of molasses, raisins, quite some whisky, plums and some vanilla, followed by a long, gently bitter, quite hot finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Again a very tasty variant of Wuldor, very hot still as well, flavour-wise maybe a little more subtle than the Glenallachie version.

Op tap bij In de Wildeman. Donkerbruin, beige kraag. Volle bak geur van het vat, heel veel whisky, vanille, sherry, donker fruit, iets gebrand, karamel, alcohol, geconfijte vruchtjes. Volle body. Erg smaakvol.

Slight hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma of whiskey, booze, dried fruits, caramel, herbal notes and yeast. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Above medium bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation.

Tja, behoorlijk alcoholische bruine suiker bom met aardse tonen, noten, dun, lichte tannine, Iets muffig aroma, scherp, ben er niet weg van

Very light haze on this reddish amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light and smooth and fairly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, slightly thin, a touch of caramel and toffee that ain’t that sweet. Fruity bourbon, mildly spicy. Smooth semi dry finish. Not bad but a richer sweeter malt base would go a long way.

Bottle at home from Sterk, Amsterdam, 29th December 19. Pours a chestnut brown, aroma is barrel, wood and fruit plus caramel. Taste is liquor, dark fruit, caramel, wood and barrel. It’s another good barley wine, but not as good as the Blue Label.

Bottle at home. Unclear brown ale with no head. Sweet malts, toasty, caramel, toffee, sweet, sherry fruity and oaky barrel. Sweet and quite bitter too. Over medium body and soft carbonation.

Bottle. Brown color. Caramel, dried fruit and a hint of whisky in the aroma. Malty sweet with dried fruit, hints of toffee and whisky in the flavor. Alcoholic, interesting.
