We’re very excited to announce that a new year-round beer will be joining our lineup this spring! Inspired by our collaboration with Florida’s famed Cigar City Brewing, Tropical Pale Ale marries our love and mastery of balanced pale ales with the bright, refreshing flavors of grapefruit and passion fruit accented by juicy, citrusy hops.

Tropical Pale Ale begins with a base of soft pilsner malt layered with Maris Otter, Munich and caramel malts. Huge late hopping with a blend of Mosaic, Citra, Topaz, Calypso and Azacca lends bright flavors of mango, pear, blueberry and citrus to a pale ale featuring slightly toasted biscuit and caramel/toffee notes. Tropical Pale Ale is infused with grapefruit peel, grapefruit juice and passion fruit juice at the conclusion of the boil, resulting in a refreshing acidity and bold tropical fruit flavor and aroma. Currently available on draft with cans scheduled to be released starting in the Greater Kansas City Area on May 10th with other regions soon to follow, Tropical Pale Ale is 5.9 ABV and 45 IBU.

Draught Very good, huge and dense white head, leaving textbook lace over clear pale copper beer. Intense fruity NW hops, ureum, lime, grapefruit, faintly mineral. Bitter-fruity, very good balance. Finish is dry, straw, lupuline and a streak of lime/lemony acidity, maybe passion. Refreshing, medium bodied, hopoil slick, not very carbonated. Excellent... wonder where my sample, draught in Antwerpen, is brewed... Kansas City or Breendonk, and presented under the name "Craftworks" , ?

Draft glass @ Otomat. Orange with white head. Tropical, passionfruit, mango, bubble-gum in both real fruit & hop qualities, easy drinking, full enough, medium but full fruit, low in bitterness, nice tasty fruit beer, low faint chalk, not top thick but lovely overall, dug it.

A bit off, but I think it was a bad can.

So, its the new thing, everything is tropical, or is it just a sign of the previous pale ale times? Perhaps they've made tropical lagers already, heheheh. Clear pale pour with a white foamy head from a can. Smell is mild girly rancid BO ipa perfume, not bad. Taste is very ale like with those typical ill ale attitudes but then I get a little bit of freshness come thru. Yes, after the initial ale thang there is some almost fruity flowery path showing a clearing into the end. Big foamy head again on the second pour, looks nice, does not fade. Different in a way but yet the same old ubiquitous IPA.

12 oz can from Total Wine & More, Laguna Hills and poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass at my daughters. Golden body, weak wispy head. Nose and taste pack a powerful tropical fruit aromas and flavours, the can doesn't lie; grapefruit and passion fruit certainly feature in this fruit bowl of a beer, I thought it fine.
