West coast pale beers are now famous the world over. This is our example of the style. A simple but carefully considered malt base allows the huge hop and dry hop additions to shine. Initially poured big tropical aromas escape from the glass. Take a swig and your senses are assaulted by tropical fruits and a resinous mouth feel from all of those hops. The initial hop hit leads to wave after wave of thirst quenching lupulin drenched bitterness. Citrus and sunshine.

500ml bottle on 24th July 2017: Shrewsbury monthly bottle share in Chez Sophie, cheers Mike for this one. Misty golden orange in colour, white topping. The nose had plenty of fruit esters with a citrus lead, mainly orange like. The taste was also leaning towards oranges in flavour, some piney tastes also, liked it.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, July 17, courtesy of Mike. Thanks Mike. Pours a hazed orange, small foamy white head. Fruity hop aroma. Taste presents quite a nice fruity West Coast hop character with additional orangey citrus sticking its neck out. Refreshing.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 12/12/2016. Pale golden in colour, with a decent, white head. Grassy hops and plenty of tangerines and tropical fruit, with crisp, balancing malts leading to a pleasantly dry finish. Very good.

Light haze on this gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has a fine crispness. Light clean malts, modest sweetness. Nice crisp hops, orange peel - mildly bitter. Underneath fresh orange and spicy orange. Touch of melon led tropical fruits. Clean crisp finish, bitter spicy linger.

Sample from a growler fill. Turner’s, Sheffield. Hazy, watery gold. Bubbly and foamy, lasting, off white head. Nose has orange pulp. Watermelon. Pale malts. Notes of sappy pine. Taste is light, pithy juicy. Some minerality. Foamy mouthfeel. A little over carbonated. Light, clean bitter finish, with more of the minerality. Very decent.

The hop bill is mental. I need a lie down.
