(Cask at Euston Tap West, London, 25 July 2019) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with milky chocolate, coffee, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced stout. Nice one.

Cask at GBBF: Poured a brown with tan head. Aroma is sweet chocolate and malts. Taste is sweet malty.

[ As Big Smoke Underworld Milk Stout ].
ABV: 5.0%. Clear dark black brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, chocolate, milk chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, chocolate, milk chocolate, cream - vanilla - milk sugar. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Handpull cask at Dartford WMC. Black, opaque and almost flat. Liquorice, plum, coffee beans, kindling and a touch of mint in the aroma. Sweet taste with lots if liquorice and milky coffee in the taste. Long finish with stone fruit and star anise. This is very nice.

Cask at Pursuit of Hoppiness pours a watery, opaque black with a ring of off white head. Nose has chocolate malt balls, licorice, malt. Really just malt. Flavor is malty, bread, cocoa powder, some vanilla. Watery finish. Forgettable.

330ml bottle. Opaque, dark brown colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of lactose. Taste is roasty, chocolately and slightly nutty, dark malty, hints of lactose. OK.

Bottle @ Lincs tasting, Højbjerg. Nice head with good duration. Color is close to black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, caramel, fruits and hops. Nice sweet finish.

Bottle from Clapton Craft. Pours almost black with an average sized quite short lasting beige head. Aroma of malt, roasted coffee, chocolate, lactose and nutty caramel. Medium plus sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, above average carbonation. Good brew, but slightly too much carbonation.

Cask at the Euston Tap, West Lodge, 31/08/17. Murky off black with a decent tan head. Nose is chocolate maltesers, toffee fudge, sweet tones. Taste comprises vanilla essence, caramel shortcake, light fruit tang, cocoa powder, restrained roast malts, faint lactic bite. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Solid cask stout.
