Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Thanks to Chris? Aroma is musty and funky, alcohol present in the nose. Opaque black coloured pour wit a light tan big bubble head. Flavour is musty wood, some brett maybe, toffee, dark choc, musty with warming alcohol in the finish. Pretty raw and rough round the edges. Palate is fully bodied, fairly dry and woody on the tongue. Pretty interesting beer.

Bottle shared at chriso’s May 2014 tasting - London. Pours clearish dark brown with a frothy tan head. The nose holds burnt wood, dry chocolate and tangy dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with some soil, dark wood, bittersweet chocolate. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Tannic on the finish with scorched earth, wood, more baking cocoa. Slightly buggy. Pretty nice.

Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Palate is light and dry and a little crisp. Dark malts are mild and dry. Light touches of roast and dry coffee. Whisper of dark chocolate. Subtle dark fruits. Finishes dry with a mild dark malt bitter linger. Not bad, good one to share though.

Bottle @ Chriso May 14 tasting. Pours black with fast diminishing head and sweet, chocolate aroma. Roasted malts, coffee, raisins, dried fruits, chocolate, wood with a dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable for an 11%er.

Bottle at Chriso (called Siberian Stout @11.1%). It pours darkest brown/near black with minimal head. The nose is sweet, boozy, plum, Dandelion & Burdock, roasted malt, toast and liquorice. The taste is roasted malt, varnish, alcohol, toasty, earth, ash, dark chocolate, acrid bitterness and liquorice with a dry finish. Medium-body, soft carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. A bit rough around the edges. Still not bad.
