Absolutely loaded with north american hops, 12kg in the boil and a further 6kg in the fermenter.

Aromas of grapefruit and mango combined with a resinous note.
Spikey bitterness which perfectly complements the higher ABV.

Keg at The Canalhouse, Nottingham, Saturday 9th April 2016 with dad. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Lots of hops on the nose, it’s fruity and hoppy but there is a little dusty hops. Like it but lacks a little pizazz. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Keg at The Berry Walmer. Amber slight haze lasting beige head. Sherbet up front toast. Caramel. Malty ipa. Some grapefruit but perhaps needs to be fresher. OK but toffeeish rather than fruity hoppy. OK.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - deep hazy amber with a proportionate head. Nose - oranges, light apricots. Taste - apricots again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - good tangy ipa, not necessarily sessionable.

Bottle split at Nutty’s house, thanks to JF, 04/10/14. Hazed orange amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is bitter tropical fruits, light mineral vibes, grapefruit, straw. Taste comprises citric peel, orange pith, pink grapefruit, straw. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop bitterness. Decent enough APA.

Bottle from Brewer’s Droop, Bristol. Slightly hazy amber in colour, with a short-lived, off-white, head. Massive, tangerine and grapefruit aroma with a touch of creamy maltiness. Flavour was also fruit-packed, with some pine in the background and a mouth puckering, dry, finish. Very good.

Keg @ Ludlow Spring Festival May 14. Pours rusty orange, with diminishing head. Tastes a bit deflated and lacks the punch I’ve come to expect from Chinook. The hoppiness is there but it’s a soft, moderate dose. Expected more.
