The regular blueberry version in this series of experimental fruit lambics, at Tilquin Fruit Extravaganza #1, thanks to the Swiss beer geek for sharing! Thin, ‘dirty pale pink’, loose and open head, cloudy purplish red colour with a vague brownish tinge to it. Aroma of a lot of sour blueberries but seemingly a tad less intense so than in the Myrtilles Sauvages, the version with wild blueberries; stale sweat, even stale urine funkiness, green tree leaves, redcurrant, raw rhubarb, lemon juice, yoghurt. Lots of blueberry juiciness in the onset, crisp and sour, lacking a bit of basic sweetness I was expecting but delivering the soft spicy element typical for blueberry, very dry, lactic sourness as well, wheaty of course, tannic in the end due to blueberry seeds and skins, with the sourness turning a bit vinegary. Does not differ too much from Myrtille Sauvage, perhaps a little bit funkier and more vinegary sour than the latter, but it requires a side by side tasting to notice this. In any case another beautiful example of utterly generous fruitiness in lambic.

Thanks! Sampled draft @ “Tilquin Fruit Extravaganza #1” at Moeder Lambiek. Dark red fruit, bright, pink head, little head. Nose is mellow blueberry sour, lovely tasty low yoghurt. Taste is massive fruit, low yoghurt, mellow acidity compared to the other Tilquin fruit sours, red berries, blueberry really grows over time and continuous to linger, highly delicious, lingers massively, little too soft carbonation, so much fruit with great yoghurt combo, highly tasty, the fruit is awesome, pure love.

Draft at MLF. Hazy to cloudy reddish purple color. Blueberry aroma. Taste is less tart and more fruity than the sauvage version.

3/III/18 - on tap @ Moeder Lambic Foneinas (2018-227) Thanks to 77ships, kraddel and Travlr for sharing the Tilquin ticks!

Pretty clear deep red beer, small creamy off-white to pink head. Aroma: bit dirty, funky, brett, bit weird. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty bitter, tannins, fruity, lots of berries, some blueberries, very nice! Aftertaste: little bitter, soft acidity, funky notes. Nice one!
