Sampled under the name Experimental N° 5 Amour Fou Huge, dense & stable cream head over deep red-brown beer, lacey. Hot malts, brown malts with melanoidins and (rancid) arachide - fatty acids! Wood, brown malts and melanoidins, some chocolate, but again fatty acids. In the aftertaste something sourish comes up. Together with the fatty acids, that spells doom. Pretty slick, good carbonation. Something went awry here. Thanks to Stef!

16 February 2019. At Cambrinus, Bruges. Cheers to the family! Pours hazy yellow with a lasting, small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of soap, banana, coriander, yeast, wort, apricot, yellow apple, wheat, white bread, orange peel, juniper. Taste is light fruity sweet, banana & apple, quickly turning medium spicy bitter with coriander, pepper, sourish notes of wheat, juniper, soap, all the while yeasty & white bread-like. Dryish, grassy hoppy finish, more spices, yeast, wheat, faint gin-like alcohol. Medium body, slick/soapy texture, lively carbonation. A tad better than I rememberd but still not good... 6/3/6/3/11=2.9. First tasted at Brugs Bierfestival, 3 February 2018. Cheers to Anke, Ian, Kevin & Jerre!

4/II/18 - sample @ Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2018-119) Thanks to 77ships, Rubin77 and Bierridder_S for sharing today's beers!
Clear peach coloured to orange beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: fruity, some raspberries, something dirty, infected, urinals? MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: some raspberries, but something really dirty as well, I can only hope it's just an infection. Aftertaste: sugary, some jam, dirty, dead yeast, pretty bad.

At Wieze Bierfestival. The tripel from this brand new brewing project at the seaside, with extremely dense and creamy (nitro tap-like), fluffy, very thickly lacing, off-white head and cloudy straw blonde robe with greenish hue. Aroma is very heavily dominated by diacetyl (buttermilk, even rancid butter), next to hints of raw cauliflower, apple juice, white bread dough, rotting potatoes, banana, cloves, sweat, moldy lemons. Banana, pear and pineapple in the onset, very creamy mouthfeel (nitro tap-like again, weirdly so as this came from a bottle), lots and lots of buttery diacetyl, slick bready malt core, bit grainy and ’green’, wodka-like alcohol touch and mild herbal hoppiness in the end. Bizarre beer, teeming with flaws, probably way too young as I have rarely encountered this amount of diacetyl in any beer. Not very pleasant, feels amateurish and unfinished. Might revisit in older form when I get to Ostend again.
