Scotch Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels
Our bourbon barrel-aged Wee Heavy, decked out in a fine tartan kilt, delivers expressions of sweet malt and American oak like a furious claymore strike. Pour a wee dram and let the brogue fly. Don’t be daft, enjoy now or store cold.

Tap at Orange and Brew. Deep brown Scotch Ale color, thicker later of brown than on might find in a barrel beer. Sweet malt nose with bourbon and some cherry. Taste is quick thick, with malts best matched to a bourbon malt bill. Warm, sweet bourbon with no roast, of course. Can't quite pick up any claimed smoke, but that may just be a snap portion of prayed malt and however long this has say in a barrel. Simply delightful and intoxicating.

Can. Pours hazy mahogany, medium beige head, good lacing. Aroma is rich woody bourbon, dark sugars, dates, vanilla, hint of cherry and almond. Flavor is medium plus sweet, quite bitter, rich integrated dark sugary bourbon. Full body, silky. Too many IBU for a scotch ale, but very good nontheless.

On tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown. Biscuit, toast, roast, red fruit, dried fruit, bourbon, hefty booze. Pretty good.

Fantastiskt gott.

Rob W. Stop sleeping on these revolution cans! Bourbony bourbon bour. Was delish but probably not the best idea after all the other beers. Abv was too smooth.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a medium size light brown foamy head with light retention and some minimal lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with some residual sugar and light oak notes is pleasant enough. Taste is a good mix of caramelized malt with residual brown sugar notes and light oak notes and light alcohol phenols are also noticeable. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and light warming alcohol notes are also noticeable. Solid scotch ale but lacking some depth.

Really good malt aroma with lots of sugar. Sweet. Heavy palate. Rich malt flavor. Alcoholnia is in the aroma and flavor. Good.

Bottle [from trade with Iggywh, thanks!] @ home. Superb deep dark red color, full sized dense beige head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is very rich: malts, caramel, toasted malts, vanilla, brown candy sugar, whiskey / bourbon, lightly raisins, hints of chocolate and mocha. It tastes just as good: again an explosion of flavors yet somehow balanced and not just a messy mix up. Malts, caramel, brown sugar, raisins, wood, oak, toffee, whiskey / bourbon, vanilla, slightly leather, a slight hint of smoke, sweet. Full body, thick oily texture, suitable soft carbonation. Wonderful beer!
