Bottle from Geers. Pours hazy yellow with an unstable, frothy, white head. Aroma of peach, yellow nectarine, yellow apple, lemongrass, papaya, breadcrust, wheat. Taste has sweetish peach, nectarine & pineapple, spicy-yeasty backbone, a bit soapy-wheaty even. Bready malt underneath. Dry, bitter, earthy & spciy hoppy finish, grapefruit & unripe tropical fruit lingering. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Good but don't be fooled by the NEIPA description, this is rather bitter & spicy.

Bottle picked up from the Belgiuminabox, Antwerp and consumed at home Sunday 16th August 2020 listening to Fairport Convention - Live at the LA Troubadour (it would have been Fairport's Cropredy Convention this weekend) and making a Pesto Hollandaise Sauce for our steaks tonight as well as making Zwetschgentopf and Zwetschgen-Zimt- Schnecken. Pours murky, dirty yellowy colour with a white head. Lot's of citrussy flavours from the off, dry, mostly lemony, hoppiness really good. A little pithy citrus at the finish, grapefruit also. Really good.

Small greyish-yellow head over fully muddy ochre beer. Green apple a mile out, followed by fresh hopesters. Other grains as an afteraroma. Bitter flavour, vegetable bitterness. Appleester not traceable in the flavour, hopoils dominating. Bit raw. Medium bodied, protein filled, bit slick. Medium carbonation. Rather raw, indifferent bitterness. Could have been better with a bit moderation, I guess.

Tnx Samu :)

5/V/20 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 1/I/21 (2020-396)

Cloudy bright yellow beer, with some slimy gunk at the bottom of the bottle, small creamy bit irregular white head, unstable, falls down quickly. Aroma: bit floral and soapy, fruity touch, little resinous, herbal, some nettles. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: hint of citrus up front, then very soapy, grapefruit, nice bitterness, more citrus on warming up. Aftertaste: bitter, bit soapy, floral touch, nice and hoppy, little dank, bit of a chemical bitterness, very dry finish with some citrus notes.

One of several collaborations between Galea near Antwerp in Belgium on the one hand and Maltgarden in Poland on the other hand, a strong NEIPA hopped with Mosaic, Enigma and Ekuanot. Eggshell-white, mousy, bit irregular, opening head leaving flat 'shreds' in the middle over a cloudy to even murky, beige-tinged ochre-ish 'blonde' beer, looking like homemade pear juice after the head has disappeared completely... Aroma of pomelo, lime zest, Sichuan pepper, unripe pineapple, lemon-scented hand soap, tonic water, old leftover dough, freshly cut celery, starfruit, roses, wet clay. Fruity onset, quite citric with hints of pomelo and lime peel, soapy starfruit note, softish carb; soft, eventually powdery body, doughy maltiness completely drenched in a kind of 'green-peppery' hoppiness with bright citric edges, spicy and grapefruity, ending in a remarkably firm, drying, spicy bitterness, very grapefruity again - and, importantly, very un-NEIPA. It sure looks like a NEIPA alright, but clearly the style has been misunderstood here by putting so much emphasis on bitterness, almost quinine-like, like an old school West Coast IPA would be; that said, I personally like a good deal of hop bitterness in anything IPA-labelled, so I frankly could not care less. Enjoyed it, in spite of having received a NEIPA-looking beer that hardly tastes like NEIPA at all...

Pours unclear yellow, small to no head. Smell is a bit pineapple. Mild citrus, bit malty. Taste is full, sharp and bitter, drying yeastyness, mild hopburn. Aroma seems a bit lost, and the beer is not as creamy as I had hoped. Decnet IPA to Belgian standards, but no compedator in the international market.

Draft glass @ Beerlovers Bar during brewery tap takeover. Citrus golden, soapy white head. Nose is weird bit chemical, cheese, haze, faint eggs, washing powder. Haze taste mixed with chemical, soap, gets bit more fruity & cheesy over time so better, thick, low washing powder. Very odd take on style but might be mental still I am still weary of Pakhuis even under new management.
