Zythos 2018. Cloudy golden with a big white head. Aroma of banana and white bread. Sweetish malty flavour with banana, herbs, spice, yeast and a bitter finish.

Pigs Ear after party at Chez Smith. Thanks to the host for this one. Light haze on this gold beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Fluffy malts bring a light dry creamy sweetness. Mild dried fruits, floral dried fruits. Pinch of spice. Light dry finish. Easy going if a little dull.

Bottle at The Bodney Bordello, thanks! It pours hazy orange with a thick white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, orange peel, tangerine, hay, cereal and a touch of nougat. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, earthy, soda water, pithy, zesty citrus, peppery spice, florals, bit of lemongrass and straw with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Quite alright.

Bottle split at and thanks to Leighton, 05/12/17. Hazed golden with a decent off white head. Nose is grassy, grains, lemon tinged straw, citric peel, herb. Taste comprises sharp orange, straw, yeast esters, grains, herbal notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. A rather low end of the scale saison for me.

Bottle shared in Hackney - picked up in Brussels. Pours unclear orange-gold with a tight, creamy white head. The aroma holds rich wheat bread, saison yeast, pale grains, wheat flakes, straw. Light sweet flavour with grassy bitterness, dirty hay, more yeast, dry wheat bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, dry and pretty bitter, more grass. Drinkable gear.

Flavour is composed light damp hay, Belgian, straw, green, yeast bite. Grassy. Palate is crisp and dry, highish carbonation, frothy. Not bad.

Thanks! Sampled bottled @ Modeste 2017. Deep hazy orange, creamy white. Nose is dirty grain, perfume, extremely bitter raw grains. Too carbonated, fizzy huge bitter grain, excessive not too pleasant bitterness as with their other beers for me with big perfume. Too carbonated harsh bitterness with no fruity or aromatic qualities. Not my thing. Type of bitterness that is getting in vogue with a few Belgian breweries, hoppy beers with no aromatics, fruit profile etc. just extreme harsh bitter weeds & grains to the maximum, I don’t really get it, it is hugely bitter for sure but it has nothing,…. It is like if you eat something spicy you don’t want just heat without flavours or other things to back it up but these guys are hellbent on maximum bitterness it seems. USA beer scene moved mas doing things for maximum bitterness & even then you got flavours.
