Very cloudy hazy golden and honey coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall slightly off-white head. Aroma of fresh light hops, a touch of malt and a nice bit of sugars. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong fresh hoppy flavour of very light, low alpha acid hops, some citrus and grain and a bit of light malt - nice and fresh. Aftertaste shows some grain, a lot of citrus and grapefruit and a nice fresh hop flavour which goes nicely with the light grain maltiness. Overall, a surprisingly good Light IPA with definite hop elements, but a very fresh and light beer, full of flavour. Much better than I expected and definitely better than the ratings give credit for. I sampled this 473 mL can purchased from IGA grocery store at Rue Berri (Berri-UQAM Station) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 17-September-2016 for CA$2,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Montreal a few minutes later on 17-September-2016.

St.-Ambroise Session IPA 4.5% Honey gold with a fluffy head and aroma of juicy citrus and dank pine. Light bodied with an ascerbic grapefruit pith but also a tad of buttery diacetyl the hops struggle to hide. Shame. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from the Beer Store. Cloudy pale amber under a one finger white head that recedes slowly. Lots of floaters. Nose has citrus and tropical fruit but also a ton of butterscotch. Flavour has some citrus bitterness but diacetyl completely distracts. Not sure if this is an old can or the nature of the beast. Mouth is actually not as thin as usual for a session with average carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. I may revisit this. 5/3+/4/3+/11

Pours a light golden colour with very tiny particles of hops floating around with heavy carbonation of medium-size bubbles. Foamy head with good retention and soapy lacing. Fresh hop aromas with some grass and citrus notes. After a while, hints of rusty water, but not as bad as most brew with this. Cereal grain taste with decent grassy hops. Some good dryness and bitterness. An easy-drinking Session IPA that does its job.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow/amber color ale with an average foamy head with good retention. Aroma of light citrus hops is somewhat of a disappointment with not as much character as I would have expected. Taste is also lighter in term of hops profile than I was expecting with light citrusy notes noticeable and lightly sweet malt backbone is discreet. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Not bad but falls really short in terms of hops profile.
