A clear dark amber body with a tall off-white head. The nose leads with bubble gum, yeast, and a light fruity sweetness. A sumptuous, understated and balanced BW. The \"blonde\" elements are real and create a tasty new take on the style. Ripe dark fruit, cherries, some fruity hops, oak woodiness, stewed prunes, honey and a soft bourbon warmth really blend up well. Slightly sticky and slick in the mouth. Carbonation appropriately understated, but present.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a small foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of bourbon notes with some vanilla and woody also easily noticeable. Taste is a mix of dry caramelized malt with loads of woody notes, some light vanilla with a rich bourbon finish. Body is full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. Interesting take on the blond barleywine style which isn’t very common with some strong dominating bourbon notes.

Looks almost clean, amber with golden highlights, but some very tiny particles are all-over. Frothy warm cap, decent retention and some light lacing. Aromas are not my favourites, but still well-done with plum over caramel, which gives me a feeling of wet socks from someone that has fungus. OK, it's not that bad really. Hints of vanilla and alcohol. Looks like this will be really sweet, but surprisingly, quite alright to go down. Again, lots of fruits, darker one especially with the hops that cut the sweetness. Not syrupy thankfully, with the vanilla oak notes in the finish. If you like a slightly hoppier Barleywine, this is quite good overall.
