Handpump @Mad For Beer (Rome). Brown appearance with a medium foam. Aroma has some metallic notes, hops, roasted malts. Disappointed. Taste is better, roasted malts, some caramel, then a bitter end. Light body. A bit rough and messy, with some bad off-flavour.

On keg at the Craft Beer Rising event at the Drygate Brewery. General impression here was that there was lots of India going on but not much of the brown ale.So, marks for artistic impression probably not that high though a tasty beer was delivered.

Keg @ Birmingham Beer Bash July 14. Pours a dark reddish brown with huge white head. Moderately sweet and hoppy with a decent malt backbone. Citrus and herbal pine notes coming through too. Nice.

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Tetbury 12/4/2014. Medium brown with hints of red and a decent, frothy, off-white head. Sweet, caramel, red fruits and a hint of roastiness, before some citrus hops and a gentle finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle from Good Taste Food and Drink, Crystal Palace, London - slightly fuzzy amber to brown pour with a medium off-white head. Toasty strong malty and hoppy aroma and taste, caramel, light toffee, slight floral and herbal nuance, beautiful drop this.

Sample from 33 cl. bottle. Slightly hazy amber-golden colour with a dense, off-white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, grape, caramel malts, light chocolate and toast. Taste is light bitter. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter lingering. Very nice.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops, malt, and butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, butterscotch, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.
