Gamme Grande Cuvée. Unlike typical porters, our Baltic Porter is brewed in the traditional style as a bottom-fermenting lager. The result is a luxuriously round, but robust, black beer with a mild bitterness. A special blend of roasted malts provides this porter with flavors and aromas of chocolate and coffee, and you’ll enjoy it’s subtle hints of cherry-smoked malt.

Bottle - thanks Paul! Almost clear dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Light palate, softish. Super mild tangy dark malts. Mellow chocolate, somewhere between dark and milk. Trace of coffee. Finishes quite sweet and tangy. Slightly left field but good.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s, London - many thanks to Paul. Pours clear, dark brown with a fine, beige cream head. Sugary dark malts in the nose, rich bread, some chocolate syrup. Huge sweet flavor, loads of sugary malts, brown sugar, brown bread, light smoke, more chocolate syrup. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, pretty syrupy, some dark leaves, sweet bread, chocolate. Nice, if a bit sugary.

75cl bottle at UDRBM, cuvée 2011. Black colour, brown head. Aroma is sweet, chocolate, molasses, pipe tobacco. Flavour is rather sweet, chocolate, light fruity, hard roasted malts, it’s very sweet but also very very tasty. Medium to full-bodied. Nice.

750 ml. Bottled 1/ 7 /2011.Thanks to Adam Jackson. Tulip shows oblique black with a small ring of beige head. Nose is malt, alcohol and a hint of smoke. Taste is much the same. Somewhat sweet from the malts with a mild alcohol taste. Kind of flat carbonation. I can not compare this to any other porter, it’s kind of its own thing. Nice

Bottle acquired in a trade. Poured at cellar temp into a wine glass. Light brown on the pour. dark brown to black in the glass. Very minimal head. Hint of campfire smell. Some dark fruits and cocoa on the nose. Taste more of the same but more smokiness than I would like. More dark fruits like cherries and raisins. Smooth roasted malt finish. almost no carbonation on the mouth feel.

750 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown with a transient beige head. Aroma is quite vinous with some coffee. Full bodied. Flavor is dark malt, chocolate, coffee and a touch of vinosity. Really smooth with a sort of dusty dryness in the finish. Excellent.
