Big fluffy white head on a thin amber body. Nose is citrus hops with some grassiness. Taste leads with subtle grapefruit hops underpinned with sweet, rich malts and some grass. Hoppiness fades a little too quickly for an 8.8 abv double, but it’s not a bad quaff.

From a fresh cask at the brewpub. Huge aroma of juicy citrucy hops! Lots of orange, lemon, and grapefruit. The flavor is very sweet though, I think this would need a little more Malts to balance this out and cut some of the intense sweetness that dominate the finish.

A golden amber IPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, a hop whallop of floral hops, pinhey, resinous and in your face. In mouth, a nice mix of piney citrusy hops over caramel malt, menthol, with nice alcohol warmth. On tap at Hivernale, Feb. 23 2013.

Tap (Hivernale): Poured an amber/orangey color ale with a nice thick foamy head. Aroma of green resinous hops with some citrus notes is quite dominant with light caramel malt notes also perceptible. Taste is also dominated by a great mix of green fresh hoppy notes with some citrus and earthy notes offset by some caramelized malt notes. Bitterness level is above average with some great dry hopping notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed and something the brewer should consider bottling.
