Black pour, tiny beige head. Light roasty aroma, but lots of wet paper, and minerals with some sweet malts and light frurit. Body is a little flat, carb is very soft. The finish is sweet, roasty malts, but also quite fruity, but the wet paper, minerals come back. I think this bottle might be a bit past its prime, but its still decent.

Excellent produit!!

Tasted on tap at La Chouape Pub in St-Félicien on July 31st. Aromas: Mainly molasses and oatmeal. Appearance: Very dark and opaque black. Wonderful head and lacing. Flavors: Oatmeal, molasses and coffee with a strong roasted bitterness. Interesting combination of cereals and bitterness. I’ve never tasted oatmeal beer before and I have to admit that it’s not my favorite style. But it certainly does the job.

Pours a dark brown colour and small amounts of red highlights glowing through. Its mocha cap is big, bubbly, creamy, foamy, with lots of retention and decent lace. A cascade effect is created for a short period (at first pour). Sweet aromas of maple syrup and molasses at first. Then, the oat really stands out with hints of hops. Silky, yet watery mouthfeel with not much stickiness. Burnt malt flavour that lingers the whole way, but not overly powerful. Mild bitterness in the finish. Notes of coffee, molasses, wood, vanilla and a little annoying one with the mix of hop and malts. I just can’t find what it really is, but it bugs me. The rest is not bad at all, but I still have a bunch of other Oat Stouts that I prefer.

Very modest brown head with a jet black body with ruby hints around the edge of the glass. Aroma of grass, polished leather, motor oil. Flavour is chocolate notes mixed with dark leather and a sour finish. Okay mouthfeel. Decent and drinkable but not a standout.

A deep black porter with a thin moka head. Pleasant aroma of coffee grinds and caramel, butterscotch notes, and light berry notes. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with herbaceous qualities, light coffee grinds, a bit off, but overall quite nice.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color porter with an average size off-white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of aromatic coffee is very well done with some light bitter roasted malt also noticeable. Taste is a good mix between some roasted malt with some coffee with limited astringency and light dark chocolate finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Well done.

Bouteille 500ml.
