On tap at BBP. Dark brown with a medium head. Aroma of light hops, some grapefruit and mild coffee. The same in the taste. The body was on the light side and the bitterness medium.

Clear dark amber to red brown beer, bit solid creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice tropical fruit aroma's, passion fruits, bit acidic, little funky, soft roasted notes. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty bitter start, grapefruit, some citrus, strong long lasting dry bitterness, soft roast. Aftertaste: very bitter and dry finish, fruity notes, little acidic, hoppy, grassy touch, oranges, some pineapple, very decent beer!

Keg at BBP. It pours hazy deep reddish - brown withy decent off-white head. The aroma is sweet, toasty, stewed orange, marmalade, mango, berry, cocoa and candy. The taste is drying, bitter, earthy roast, toasty, quite raw, pine needles, resin, coffee, tree bark, leather, pithy citrus and a touch of spice with a drying finish. Lightish body and average carbonation. A bit light for the amount of hops involved. OK.

12/10/2017 - small tasting glass @BBP. Dirty brown with creamy tanned head. Nose has some coffee, some grapefruit. Taste is a bit watery, coffee, bit hazelnut. Not really BIPA feeling.

Tasting glass @ BBP. Ugly red hued brown, creamy small tanned head. Nose is mellow herbal, cacao, coffee, leaves, not very outspoken & restrained nose. Taste is interesting sweet cacao, blue cheese hop, coffee, plastic, sweet bread, is this with Sorachi Ace hop,… Rather thin bodied cacao body. Not really what a BIPA should be but the blue cheese hop mixed with cacao is surprisingly tasty. Nice, messy but quite enjoyable.

Not as black as you would expect from a black IPA…
