Ages ago, our dear friend Bim Lafontaine traveled from Japan to brew with us the inaugural batch of Brother Soigné, a collaboration that we continue to produce in the spirit of that visit. A small portion of a subsequent batch was aged atop raspberry, cherry and northern kiwifruit pomace for nearly 3 months. The result honors both the legacy of that first brew day and the satisfaction of exploration.

750mL bottle at the brewery, 4/3/24. Deeply brassy with strong copper highlights. Small, white head to feeble cover quickly. Bright and juicy with some moderate acidity and typical house cultures/minerality. Good mellowness and a touch of kiwi tropicality. A bit of powdered sugar or pez. Maybe that's the kiwi. It seems to dissipate. Juicy, with moderate maltiness and high attenuation. Light cracker and biscuit. Lingering fruit tannin. Clean and snappy, shorter fruit finish. The acidity is lovely and everything is cohesive at this point.

Bottle: Poured a pale yellow color ale with a large off-white foamy head. Aroma of tart notes with light funky Brett notes with some cherry notes and light apple notes also noticeable. Taste is a great mix of fruit notes with raspberry and cherry being most noticeable and some tart notes, light oak and funky notes also perceptible. Body is about average with good carbonation. Solid mix of complexity with good drinkability.
