German styles are especially fun to experiment with because it feels so verboten. Despite its hefty size, this beer is remarkably clean, crisp, and balanced. We brewed this beer with traditional German lager malt, and loaded up the whirlpool with floral German hops and aromatic, fresh lime zest. We then fermented it a low temperature, before dry hopping with an exciting blend of German and American hops, to create an overall hop profile that exhibits interesting characteristics of lemon and orange. We then added a little extra lime, before cold conditioning the beer for several weeks to give the beer a bright refreshing finish.

On tap at the brewery Bermondsey. Hazy amber lasting white head. Lime no doubt. Weird. A bit like a lager and lime but with a better lager and a slight soap lime. Ok just. Eek not for me.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours clear, deep gold with a creamy head. The nose has ripe citrus, some pale bread, a little zezty lime. Light-medium sweet flavour with more ripening citrus, melon, ripe orange. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderate sweetness in the finish, juicy lemon, more lime notes, mellow bitterness. Good stuff.

Keg at the brewery. A light hazed golden orange coloured pour with a a fine white head. Aroma is spicy citrus, zesty orange, silage and fermented grassy hop. Flavour is composed of crisp semi sweet grains, tangy lime, orange citrus clean yeast profile, little alcohol presence. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, frorhy carbonation. Good. Maybe more and Imperial pils.
