Rating #1200:
Hazy orange/copper coloured body with no head at all! Aroma of malt, sugar, alcohol, medicine and some fruit. Medium-bodied; Mild medicinal flavour with some malt, almost no sugars and little else. Aftertaste is mild with no great tastes. Overall, way past its prime-but truly a nice treat to try with Jon[R888710]. I hung around with this bottle for about two years, which I found alone on a shelf in one of the best stores here in Washington. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 18-September-2004.

2002 bottle. Pours a clouded deep straw yellow with a nice white head. At first smells very strong and saazy, but the aroma dies off quickly. Has a solid saaz hops flavor up front with some buttery sweet malt flavors. Finished doughy and sweet (like sugar cookie dough). As it warmed, the malt dominated and the hops had trouble making themselves known. Still, the flavor is good, and if you drink it cold enough, the hops are wonderful. Strange finish as it warms, mildly sweet, a little metallic?

Bottled. Clearly aimed at store shelves that might be put off by 3F's "Not Normal" product. A sudsy head over a yellow that's darker than the usual pale yellow American beer. Just slightly roasted malt flavor, nicely balanced by Saaz hops. I wasn't highly impressed, but this was an older bottle, still contract brewed at Schell's, so I will definitely seek out more to re-rate it.
