This ale pours a dark orange colour with a white creamy head. Toasted grain and hops with citrus notes are present. Slightly metallic scent too. First sip is smooth and also metallic tasting. The flavour isn't watery but almost ????oily? It seems to coat the tongue and leaves you till the end where it finishes with that metallic flavour again with a slight bitterness. Average ale.

Light orange amber color. Moderate white cream head. Has some zing to it, in that it has more of a piney hops flavor, almost a delicate spice. Body was medium and nothing to brag about. A step up from Old Speckled, and somewhat better than boddingtons. A bit stale in the aftertaste maybe? could be worse, there is some redeeming maltiness.

Gold in colour with almost no head. The aroma was pretty subdued with only a minimal amount of hops and malt coming through. The taste was equally as subtle. No complexity and a somewhat metallic taste leaved an unhappy aftertaste in my mouth. I would rather have a Carlsberg than this anyday.

On draught at Mac's Cafe in Columbus. Amber color with a thin off-white head. Mild malt aroma. Very smooth and boring flavor, nothing at all stands out. Thin and somewhat creamy finish. While not offensive, I won't bother getting this again.

A good, full-bodied ale with a well-balanced bitterness. It used to come in BIG bottles here in Sweden but not anymore, pity.

A decent pale ale, not outstanding in any way. Rerate 500 ml bottle: Moderate malty aroma, golden brown colour, good head. Pleasant, malty, well rounded flavour. Decent. A bit alcoholic, in a blind test I would guess it was stronger than it actually is.

Amber coloured. Neutral aroma with hint of green apples. Light-bodied, near thin, with low bitterness and slight sulfur aroma. This ale got megabrewed written all across it.

Found this in a green bottle and the result was as expected: first crack of the crown and skunk hit my nose. Otherwise, a nicely balanced light creamy ale with a nice hop presence. A very unusual ale however, with many lager characteristics.

It used to be this was the best English ale I could find. Thankfully that is no longer the case.
