Can’t say I am a fan of an IPA where the malt is so much more present than the hops. Cascade and Centennial hops are capable of a lot more than this. Not as tasty or category appropriate as their English Ale, IMO.

Incredibly earthy, lots of caramel, and breads malts. Medium bitterness, lots of grassiness, and super earthy, herbal hops.

Bottled, from LCBO, Ottawa. Cloudy amber, mid sized head. Mild grapefruit aroma. Dryish with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Crystal malt, some piney grapefruit hops. Lightly resiny finish with significant bitterness. Quite drinkable, but unpolished.

This IPA poured a medium amber colour with a creamy off white head. Nice lacing. Scents include malt, caramel and hay. First swig was nice and creamy with flavours of hops and light caramel. Finish was medium bitter with nice malty flavours lingering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from LCBO at parents’ in Ottawa. Ruby copper pour with minimal tan head. Aroma is spicier red malt with pine and apple hops. Taste is similar - more spicy crisp bitterness and warm malt. Tingling bitter/spiciness lasts on the finish. Not bad for this redder type of IPA, but not my preferred style.

Can: Poured a bright amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with some citrusy hoppy notes. Taste is also a mix of caramelized malt with some citrusy hops and some bitter notes in the aftertaste. Body is full enough for style with good carbonation. Too much caramel malt with maybe tad too much bitterness for my taste.

Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with a nice light-beige creamy head that stays a while and leave fluffy lacing. Pretty yeasty with some caramel and other grainy malts, giving some bread notes. The hops are felt in the taste over the grainy malts that lingers. With time, lots of butterscotch in the nose. Mildly dry mouthfeel. A decent caramel IPA with average hops.

More like a marzen or light bitter than an IPA. The saaz-hopped pilsener I had before this was more hoppy than this. Pours reddish orange with decent head and lacing. Very light hint of citrus but this is mostly all malt. Very light bitterness for an IPA. Light carbonation. Tap at Arrow and Loon.

A hazed amber ipa with a thin off white head. In aroma, smooth caramel malt with treacle notes and nice floral hops, nice and classic British ipa. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with good grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, classic. On tap at Arrow and Loon.
