Thin off-white head on a deep mahogany body. Rich, pungent nose of caramel malt, rye, dark and dried fruit, spice and booze. A blast of BW taste elements - dense malt base, spiced rye, plums, apricots, biscuits, citrus hops, candied fruit and alcohol warmth. Slick, rich mouth feel, but not too sticky. Sustained and beautifully balanced.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is malty and fairly hoppy with citrus, caramel toffee, dried fruits, some alcohol, raisins, more fruity notes. Flavour is medium sweet with a harsh bitter finish. Body is medium to full. Nicely hoppy with a bittersweet flavour, a bit harshly bitter and alcoholic, quite an enjoyable hoppy malty Barley Wine.

Dark toasty note on the nose. Hot on the palate, a bit thin, boozy, phenols. Lacks complexity for it's size, and body. This isn't really working for me.

Bottled (from Vinmonopolet Kirkenes). Amber colour, not too much head. Aroma is chocolate cookies with dried fruits, and some nutty tones. Flavour is fruity, floral and mild herbal tones. Mild dried fruity alcohol to it.

330 ml bottle. Vintage 2017. Same as Beastly Biscuit I think... Pours a dark reddish brown with minimal head. Aromas of alcohol, light caramel, toasted malts, and dark fruit. Flavors of bitter bread crusts, rye, candi sugar, and raisins. Cellaring has not really improved the original.

330 ml bottle. Pours a clear mahogany color with moderate head. Aromas of breadcrust, toasted malts, light caramel, and raisins. Flavors of biscuity malts, candi sugar, bitter crusts, and metallic resin. Somewhat harsh and hot. Potential to cellar a bit.

Poured from 330mL bottle (bb 09/Jan/27). Clear dark amber brown with small light beige head. Dark dried fruit, hint of herbal, alcohol, resinous hops that dry it out.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10.9%. Nearly black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, molasses, oatmeal, sweet biscuits. Warming mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and rich, but not cloying, with the same elements as the aroma, also notes of chocolate, brandy and oak. Moderate bittering hops.

330mL bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is full of dried dark fruits galore, with a little toffee, and bready malt. Flavour is very malty and fruity upfront, with lots of dried dark fruits -- especially raisins, prunes, etc. -- and backed by some chewy resinous hops underneath. Really nice dried fruit character. There is little sweetness, with the hops seeming to dry this out and leaving a lingering bitterness. Nicely made.
