Thank you Sebletitje! 330 ml. can sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). BBF 26/10/17. Extremely pale golden, little head. Nose is watery, metallic, poor vegetable, vegetable oil. Taste is watery, metallic, soap, sugar, chemical, vegetables. Luckily for its good, bit watery, keeping the worst vegetable notes at bay. Bad but there is even worse out there.

One of the multiple West-African identities of the Beaufort brand of pale lagers, this one, according to the can, "brassée & mise en boîte sous license internationale par la Brasserie BB Lomé S.A. Togo". Many thanks to Ruben for bringing this can from Africa to Ghent. Medium thick, dense, egg-white head opening in the middle but leaving a steady rim around the glass as well as a thin ’veil’ of foam in the middle, crowning a deep and pure golden beer with slightly greenish hue and a disperse ’fog’ of yeast bits throughout. Aroma of sourdough, soggy chicken food, iron, wet grass, damp kitchen towel, lightly sourish mineral water, sweaty grains, cooked celery, some stale sweat but not too off-putting, all things considered. Onset hovers between neutral and blandly sweetish, very strongly corn-like, with a dull grainy sourishness surrounding it; medium carbo. Very metallic middle phase in which the dull sourish and sweetish graininess continues, minerally, smooth and slick, gaining a slight grassy bitterish accent all the way at the back, but going down with the same grainy sweetishness as in the beginning. Bland, metallic, corny pale lager like there are countless of them in this world, too corn-sweet for sure, but there is a certain ’yeasty’ sourishness to it which provides a certain balance and in all, this remains more or less drinkable.

330 ml can. Clear pale golden with a fast disappearing small white head. Light aroma with some grain and iron. Flavor is kind of sweet grainy with a harsh metallic bitterness. Thin body and a bit unpleasant aftertaste. I got problems with finish my 2 cl of this.

Can, thanks to nilsas. It pours a clear, golden body under a small, white head. Yellow apples, pale malts and generic fruityness in the aroma. The flavor has much the same, with a faint bitterness and some metal. Thin on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation. Except for the metal, it’s sort of decent. Don’t feel an urge to find it again though. 140418
