From 33cl bottle. Pours slightly orange gold, with limited white foam. Aroma is citrusy and tangy. Body is medium, with some astringency. Taste has some initial sweetness, but most of all a pleasant sourness tied to the spicing in the beer. Just a hint of final bitterness. Alcohol is clearly detectable. Finish is still short enough, as it should for a blanche.

Bottleshare at Matteo’s. Thanks to Fergus. Hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry, a mild crispness. Light Parma Violets. Candy fruits. Touch of lemon. Light finish. Pretty drinkable.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Fergus. Pours unclear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has some ginger, lemon peel, flaked wheat. Medium sweet flavour with a little doughy wheat, more citrus, some yeast, peach, lemon candies. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet, sugary finish with more wheat, ripe gingery notes. Fun.

Can at Matteo abode, thanks to Fergus, 31/10/16. Lightly hazed yellow with a moderate off white covering. Nose is floral, bergamot, perfume, sweet mandarin, melon. Taste comprises grape juice, floral, lemon, palma violets, light bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough for style but a touch overly sweet and doesn’t really justify the ABV.

Bottle shared at the inaugural Matteo tasting, 31/10/2016. A pale yellow straw coloured pour with a fading white froth. Aroma is is nice zesty orange, perfumed citrus, sweet lemon. Doughy wheat. Flavour is composed tangy lemon, kaffir lime, fruity lemon, little soapy, wheaty grains. Palate is semi sweet. Moderate carbonation, . Soapy not bad. .

F: no real. C: gold to orange, hazy. A: malt, wheat, tangerine, ginger, lemon, bread, hint of yeast. T: malt, wheat, tangerine, spicy, ginger, orange sweet, oily mouth feel but quite refreshing tangerine fresh juice taste, good one worth to try, bottle (33 cl) from Malting Pot in Brussels at home.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 24.03.2018, loto# L16009, merci Pierre T. Dorée fin orange, col blanc retombant vite. Arôme au nez tangy, bien citronné mettant en avant pas mal d’agrumes, le tout relevé par un agréable épicé de gingembre qui vient titiller les narines, retrouve aussi un caractère malt froment perçant en rétro. Palais est sympa avec une belle rondeur venant dut malt froment, superbe note fruitée de bergamote apportant tonique et fraicheur à cette blanche impériale. L’épicé gingembre relève le tout sans pour cela être surfait. Le tout même à quais 8% garde un peu le profil limonade, et reste très rafraichissant.

250 ml. draft @ CML Fontenais. Clear golden with little whtie head. Nose is really massive dishwashing liquid lemon, Dreft, dishwashing liquid lime, extremely sweet on top, massive white sugar sweet & white bread candy sweet. Taste is same intense sweet lemon & bit of lime dishwashing liquid, real overkill, soap, lemonade, extremely sweet white sugar, candy white creamy. Creamy substantial body. Really excessive & rather odd. Expected something way better from these guys this is too close to dishwashing liquid with massive amounts of candy & white sugar. Nowhere even close to its namesake Van Morrison song. Wonder what they put in here? Something more than the usual peel I figure.
