Wunderbar is our WONDERFUL IPA brewed with 100% German hops. This is a hop forward IPA, full of fruity hop flavour with a medium bitterness. Late and dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc and Mandarina Bavaria. The hops offer sweet tangerine on the nose and sweet citrus fruits on the flavour. Wunderbar has a punchy bitter kick with a fine malt balance.

Can shared in London - thanks to Fergus. Pours clear honey-gold with a foamy, white head. Crackery pale malts in the nose, some hay, citrus peel, a little caramel. Medium sweet flavour with more crackers, biscuits, light jammy citrus, melon, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more crispy pale maps, ripening citrus, rindy orange. So so.

Can at level 42, thanks to Fergus. It pours hazy amber with an orange tinge with medium off-white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, bit juicy, orange, peach, Irn Bru, grainy action and resin. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, resinous, orange peel, icing sugar, peachy, Irn Bru, grassy, green and light alcohol with a dry, yet sweet finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not so bad.

330ml can from trade with BeersIveKnown, whilst watching Hell or High Water at Cineworld. No comment on appearance as consumed straight from the can. Aroma is vibrant tropical fruit and citrus. Taste continues, with lots of sweet luscious fruits presented balanced and smooth. Good cinema beer this.

Can. Hazy gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has decent fine minerally carbonation. Thin malts provide a mild sweetness. Pithy hops, orange and some mild bitterness. Smooth finish. Not really getting the best of these new German hops, but it’s okay.

Can from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark amber with a thick white head. Aromas of light caramel and citrus. Taste is light sweet, faint bitter. Kind of a strong bitter rather than an IPA for me. Decent enough.

Can from O’Brien’s, Athlone [200716] 6/3/7/3/14 3.3
Dark amber, frothy white head
Aroma - hint of sweet caramel, light fruits, bit of pine hops
Taste of soft fruits, caramel, fairly bitter hops, light pine, not that hoppy
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, clean palate, fairly bitter, soft sweet. Finish of soft bitter zest hops
Overall - Quite pleasant but not a patch on their white IPA I had earlier in the day - decent enough but not one of their best

330ml can. Murky amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty aroma, weak citrusy hoppy notes of orange, mandarine, a touch of grapes. Taste is slightly bitter hoppy, a dry touch of grapes and green apple parings, bitter zesty overtones of mandarine and orange, light caramel malty basis. Unconvincing.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Original, Irish Craft Beer #1, courtesy of Pierre T and shared with 77ships.
