Stone 10th Anniversary IPA harkens back to our earlier Anniversary Ales, with abundant hopping at many stages of the brewing process. Appropriately, the aroma is over the top, with pronounced piney and resiny hop flavors combined with tropical fruit esters and more subtle notes of toasted malts and alcohol. Our Stone 10th Anniversary Ale weighs in at 10% alcohol by volume (perfect for a 10th anniversary beer), and has a little more color and malt character than our other IPAs. In addition to using the new Summit hop variety in the brewhouse to provide the powerful bitterness, we went back through our records and found some of our favorite hops over the years, and used them to flavor this brew, including Chinook, Crystal, and large doses of Simcoe in the dry hop to provide a huge, complex, piney, fruity and floral hop character. This is a colossal beer, big in every sense: hoppy, malty, rich, and strong! Right up our alley.

From this get go, this is a kinder, gentler Stone machine gun hand. The nose is unusually understated for a Stone Imperial - light citrus, tropical fruit and bready malt. The taste is a more subtle mix of hops and certainly less astringent than some more recent gems - tropical fruit, melon, light citrus elements - a much happier face on the potential of hops than usual. The malt is biscuit and caramel, but not as dark and roasted as the Ruination or Ruin Ten. Smooth blending and very tasty.

wow, this was strong. The aroma is amazing. A citrus kick to the face, and some nice sweetness to it. OUTSTADING. BUT, the flavour is all pine, the citrus seems to drop off quite a bit, all i got was pine and booze. It got a little better as ir warmed up, and some sweetness came through. a Very nice DIPA, but a little too piney for my taste

From Sep 2006

Poured from 22oz bottle a clear reddish gold with a lot of bubbles and a huge head of foam that shrinks slowly until there's a solid layer with lots of lacing. Very attractive DIPA in my glass indeed!

The smell is a big hit of hops and spices with a side of malt sweetness. It leaves me shaking my head and saying, inaudibly, that this is gonna be a very tasty brew...

The taste is nothing short of BIG on super bitterness from the hops *and* BIG on super caramel sweetness from the malt. I *really* can't seperate the 2 and say that one is dominant over the other and...that makes for some really tasty goodness for my palate as I'm a big fan of both really hoppy and really malty beers. And the 10% abv is merely a statistic, imho. This one is *very* drinakable.

Ahh...I think Stone has done themselves proud with this 10th Anniversary IPA. And I'm *so* glad that I made the effort to get some. Damn good stuff!!

Bottom line: I'd have to rank *this* one amongst the best of the style I've tried to date. See some? Get some!

Fine transparant head over clear amber-golden beer. Citrussy New World hops, rosewater, malt and caramel too. Oxydized, rosewater, bit catty, caramelmalt, amandine. Very hopoilslick, not very carbonated feel. Right! the IPA’s of yesteryear: reconnaissance!

As Stone 10th Anniversary IPA, bomber shared at RBBWG. Irregular, snow white, thinnish but stable head over an orangey blonde, clear beer with deep, warm ’old gold’ hue. Aroma of biscuit, dried grapefruit peel, bread crust, orange zest, bitter honey, parsley, soap, glue. Fruity flavor but clean and restrained, dried mango, green banana and starfruit, some ’dim’ sourishness underneath, medium carbo, supple and bit soapy mouthfeel. Cereally and mildly biscuity malt backbone, long aromatic finish, grapefruity and floral with minerally side notes, biscuity juiciness remains for a long time afterwards, as well as something glueishly resinous. Older bottle, but held up very well; has the class, personality and dignity of all Stone IPAs.

Thank you Sebletitje! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). Bottled 25 August 2016. It has some age on it. Nearly clear orange, small white head. Nose is mellow cat piss oil hops, mango, some lemon peel, fruity hops, far more mellow than expected (maybe the age). Taste is far more bitter than you would expect from the smell, bitter orange peel, lemon peel, cat piss, pine, lively body, nicely bitter. Pretty solid old school cat piss hops IPA.
