Pours unclear blonde, not much head - if any . Smell is very fruitforward. Lactic tart fruityness. Taste is sharp, acidic, lactic acid. Very fruitforward. Fairly dry, recognizable farmhouse funk and phenols. Medium body, low carbo. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cuvée Sofie Kweepeer / Quince on 27 Sep 2017 at 03:58 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 9. Tap at Delfts Brouwhuis. Hazy golden with white head. Sour grains, wheat, dry pear and hints of sour dry cider, yeasty and fresh funk. Moderate sweet and bitter, medium sour, touch of salt, mineral. Medium body and soft carbonation. Tasty.

Tap at Delfts Brouwhuis. Hazy golden with a white head.lots of quince, lemon, fresh light tree malts, herbal and grassy. Solid medium sour, light sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a bit dry finish. Very tasty and refreshing, feels way lighter than 8%. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cuvée Sofie Kweepeer / Quince on 14 Dec 2019 at 21:42 - Score: Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Bottle at home. Hazy orange golden with white head. Sweet sugary malts, lactic sourness, quince, apricot, soft vanilla, sweet and sour balsamico. Solid medium sweet, very sour. Medium bodied. Quite thought and sour, but the fruit and sweetness do balance it. Overall quite good, but not a beer for every day.

Hazy orange gold beer, small white head. Quite a light palate, slightly soft and semi dry, sharpish fine carbonation. About as sour a beer as I can genuinely enjoy. A very tart lemon - lime vibe is nicely offset by the natural sweetness of the great old English staple, Quince. White wine vinegar tone starts to burn a little with its acetic acid assault. But still drinkable. If I had another of these, I don't, but if I did, I would age for another 5 years to take the sharpest edges off. Still pretty enjoyable now.

As Cuvée Sofie Kweepeer, thanks Loick for sharing! Medium thick, egg-white, irregularly edged head on a misty, deep and warm orange-hued peach blonde beer. Aroma of a lot of green pear and baked red apple - both very clearly representing the quince, soaked in impressions of sour yoghurt, green gooseberries, dry sherry, wet oak wood, sourdough, rainwater and orange juice. Very fruity onset, crisp, with strong pear- and apple-like flavours from the quince; sour redcurrant-like acidity combats with this quince sweetness, in a spritzy carbonation. Drying lactic sourness supports the fruity acidity in the middle, turning very tangy and yoghurty, completely drying a supple bready malt body underneath; ends with a whole lot of quince, almost 'cristalline' and bright 'green', crunchy and utterly fruity, with the overall sourness continuing to dry the palate. Bitterness remains very low. Cuvée Sofie has proven before that she is a very suitable vessel for all kinds of fruit experiments and here too, she provides a bright and firm framework for the showcasing of a whole lot of quince, exhibiting both apple and pear features in a very pronounced way. Unique as such - most other quince beers I had were not sours - but you'll have to love this apple-and-pear-like quince flavour a lot.

Shared at Bor's. Pours a cloudy golden-pinkish colour with no head. Aroma's: sour, vinegar, quite sharp, but also sweet fruit, actually quite raspberry-like. Flavour is sharp vinegar-y sour, but quite sweet at the same time. Medium bodied. If there hadn't been any sweetness it would have been undrinkably sour, so that saves it. Not very balanced though.

I Draught /I Bit transparant foam to medium head over hazy if glowing orange beer. Lambic-y nose, fruit & barnyard, lemonrind, horseblanket. Nice. Fruit is not really identifyable, but quince seems logical. Sour, with an exotic fruity, but also bready streak. Lemonjuice finish. Serious acidburn, and no doubt -thinning. Burning MF, sharp, astringent. Really top-sour, but all the same great beer.
