Thx! to kraddel. 330 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG V. BBF 11.2016. Dark brown, little tanned head. Nose is sweet mocha, leaves, licorice, heavy sweet herbal with thick licorice,… Smell is better than the taste. Very fizzy beer, boozy as well, harshly plastic, burned plastic, burned barrel, roast, charcoal, fizzy herbal,… Not a fan.

Sampled @ Ratebeer Belgian Summer Gathering 2016. Murky red brownish color, average sized beige head. Not a lot of aroma. Flavor is malts, lightly dark malts, some bitter, a bit annoying carbonation. Hmm ok, decent body, decent enough overall.

At rbbsg16. Thnx for sharing People ! Pours dark brown small white head. Smell is off, Sharp bit sourness. Taste is bit bitter/sour. Bot infected perhaps ? Doesn’t seem to good. Next to that, some mild dyacethyl. 5.3/10

Re-rate after sampling the new version in 2020 ( 4 years later ) . Much better beer now, yet still not amazing. grainy, coffee, bit bitter, mild oak and bourbon. thin base, medium carbo. Dont get the sourness at all now, and no traces of diacetyl either. Hope they'll keep improving like this ! 7/10

Bottle picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at home Monday 29th August 2016 Pours a murky dark brown with a large frothy head that subsided swiftly. Soft gloopy mouthfeel, actually gloopy is the wrong word but I like it so it’s staying. This is bloody good, woody but not hugely vanilla, quite a nice tartness bubbles below. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

3/VIII/16 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: XI/2016, bottled: 3/XI/15 (2016-811)

Clear purple brown beer, huge aery fizzy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, bit adhesive. Aroma: fruity, forest fruits, sweet, sugary, milk chocolate, hint of vanilla, alcohol, fudge. MF: ok carbon ,medium body. Taste: sourish start, lots of tannins, red wine, more tannins, earthy, leather. Aftertaste: slightly smoky, soft roasted touch, hint of vanilla, little bit metallic, tannins, soft bitterness, leather, earthy, caramel, bit nutty, sourish, touch of brett. Probably a red wine barrel, right? Bourgogne? :p

Bottle from Geers. Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of coffee, roasted malts, some vinegar tartness, oak. Roasty, sweet and bitter with fruity berry notes. Nice surprise.
