Draught at Row 34, 9/28/16.
Very light, pale/flaxen-golden body has a light haze to it and a small, white head atop showing moderate retention.
The nose is certainly citrusy right away, with lemon juice, black pepper and a smattering of light biscuity/crackery malt behind it. At first the lemon seems to come mostly from the sorachi ace, which adds light nectarine/peach as well. As the beer warms, however, the actual lemon used in this really comes forth quite strongly. Not that it’s overdone, per se, but it really builds up on the palate and seems rather out-of-place. The lemon flavor from the sorachi and potential yeast notes would have been more than enough here. And really in any saison. Can’t imagine ever wanting actual lemon in a saison. Otherwise, it’s a very clean, well-done beer with a soft-to-grainy texture, good attenuation and light, pleasant phenolics.

Keg at the Brewery. Light haze on this pale yellow - gold beer, small white head. Light palate, dry, decent fine carbonation. Lovely lemon sherbet, tasty and very much like the sherbet of my youth, but slightly watered down. Light floral lemon. Great fun. If this could be ramped up and intensified it could be fantastic.

Thx! for sharing DutchDrebus & Benzai! Sampled draft @ Van Moll Fest 2016. Milky citrus, little white head. Nose is lemon, easy lemon, lightly doughy, less hop than expected. Taste is basic lemon, low yeasty qualities, doughy, not really getting the typical Sorachi Ace profile, tad bland, bit too yeasty, light paper, touch grass. Okay but a tad too yeasty, bland etc.

Keg at the brewery a hazed yellow / green coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is slightly wheat, floral lemon citrus, lime, salt, hint of lavender. Flavour is composed of light wheat grains, light salt, floral citrus hop, straw and hay grains. Palate is light bodied, Refreshing, grainy, moderate carbonation, slightly thin. Nice delicate citrus. Didn’t pick up much sorachi.
