23/04/2016 sample glass shared with the Belgian Ratebeercrew @ZBF2016. Clear brown with smal lacing. Nose is sweet malts, caramel. Taste is malts, banana, sweet wine, reminds a bit of a barley wine.

Sampled at Zythos 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours clearer dark brown. OK white head. Smell is sharp, full, some wine, malty. Taste is sharp, full, complex, oak. Mild bitterness. Very nice !

Very dark brown. Thin head. Aroma and flavour have some fruity, vinous notes. There’s also a hint of fruity sourness in the finish.

Sample @ Zythos’16, courtesy of and shared with the RB Belgian crew. Brune ambrée, col beige. Arôme au nez belge, pomme caramélisée, malt pâle, cara et crystal avec un Sauternes ajoutant un léger bouquet de raisin blanc et fin boisé. Houblonné est discret offrant qcq effluves nobles. Palais met de suite l’accent sur le s10%, Sauternes bien là, ajoutant une note de fraicheur de vin blanc. Boisé reste assez discret. Base reste cependant assez belge surtout au niveau levure.

Malzig hefiger Antrunk, wenig alkoholische Noten. Geringe Würzigkeit, deutlich hopfig. Okay. 10/10/9/9//9

Sampled bottled @ ZBF 2016. (Thank you for sharing RB people!) Dark brown tad amber hue, small tanned head. Nose is heavy weird umami, herbal, umami, herbal dark fruits, overly heavy Belgian gravy, missing the Sauternes in this. Taste is thick weird herbal licorice, umami, plastic, overripe heavy Belgian fruits, intense herbal, dry & thick body, not getting oak & not getting Sauternes. Feels like a waste of a potentially great barrel, base beer is not really my thing & obscures everything, intensely heavy BE herbal & licorice not really my thing but lovely for others I suppose.

Clear red brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, caramel, some vanilla, chocolate, banana, dried fruits. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, bit oxidized, sourish, soft bitterness, smoky touch, red wine, bit of tannins. Aftertaste: sweet, sourish, grapes, fruity, bit oxidized.
