We named Amasa after Amasa Bushnell, the first farmer to officially grow hops in Sonoma County in 1858 along with his hop growing partner Otis Allen. Their original hopyard was in the Green Valley region of Sonoma County near the small town of Sebastopol. It soon became evident that between the climate, soil, and other factors hops could easily be farmed and thrive in Sonoma County.
Amasa is an extra dry domesticated wild ale brewed and bottled to be enjoyed now, or aged. Ringing in at just 4.5% ABV, Amasa is not only sessionable, but it still retains a lot of flavor. The use of Brettanomyces yeast in the bottle conditioning process lends a rustic characteristic to the beer. If aged, many of the unique yeast qualities in the beer will become even more evident.

50cl bottle pours a lightly hazy gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose has a lot of brett, dusty couch, flower pollen, grass, a little floral tea. Flavor has some sweet floral tea, grass, a little white flour, a little apricot. Musty finish.

Bottle - Brett, lemon, peach and some hay. Clear fizzy yellow with a frothy white head. Light, lemon and fruity with a bit of peel bitterness. Brett shines throughout and is quite light and refreshing. Very perfumy.

Bottle thanks to Van! Pours a near clear bright yellow with a bit of sediment and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of leaves and a bit of barnyard with some earthy grains and a hint of light fruit. Flavor is a bit dry with earthy funk with a bit of grains and just a touch of light

17.25 fl oz bottle graciously given to me by alagnak. Bottled on 122013. The pour is hazed golden yellow with a billowy two inch white head that falls rockily. The aroma is soft floral along with a bit of citrus. As the beer warms, a hint of Brett is evident. The taste is clean floral, soft tart citrus and subdued grass Brett character. Simple, clean easy drinking beer. The palate is light bodied with soft carbonation and the dry clean Brett earth grass finish. Solid, thanks for grabbing these bottles for me Chris.

Bottle shared by a chill bro @ Mikkeller SF. Thanks! Pours a hazy yellow orange appearance with a white head. Funky, straw / hay, vanilla, pineapple, tropical fruity / bretty nose. Lightly tart. Fairly herbal. Some slight acidity. Chewy grass flavor with some light fruit. Ok.
