Almost opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts with dark toffee and a little dark chocolate. Ripe fruits into hop skunk. Mild spice and pine. A little coffee bitterness underneath. The light semi dry finish brings licorice. Complex and tasty.

Bouteille 750cl courtesy of Tderoeck @ Sebletitje’s Farewell Tasting.

Thank you tderoeck. Bomber sampled @ Sebletitje’s Farewell Tasting. Black with little tanned bubbles. Nose is red grapes, sugar, very sweet grainy malts, honey, cloying. Taste is thick red grape, sugar, malt, extremely sweet cloying going to herbal cough sryupd, cough syrup. Body is thick sugar, malty with grape. Good but too sweet for its own good.

Sampled from bottle @ Sebletitje’s Farewell Tasting. Opaque black color, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste malts, some roast, heavy alcohol, dark overripe fruits, bitter. Nice.

Clear purple brown beer, practically no head. Aroma: sweet, caramel, dried fruits, some milk chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet, quite a lot of dried fruits, some chocolate, alcohol, sugary, caramel. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, roasted, green banana.

500ml bottle. Pours dark ruby. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, rye and coffee. Flavour has spicy coffee, chocolate and a little lactose and vanilla. Really quite fantastic.

Small growler13C. Very dark brown with an inch of light tan head that never quite disappears. Aroma of wild figs, not-quite-dry tobacco, prunes, soil. There is a whiff of booze, as much Port as whiskey. .Full bodied but silky rather than syrupy. Taste is sweet and has lots of dark dried fruit, earth, a little mildly astringent roasted malt (not that it’s stouty at all, it’s very much the very big old ale type). Some licorice and spices with the finishing bitterness that curtails the sweetness well. After a while it becomes clearer that the spices are from rye. Suspect this would be rather less good were the bitterness to fade much but it’s good enough to be tempted to try keeping a bottle for a while. Very good.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of caramel and dark dried fruits upfront, with a little tobacco. Flavour is very complex, with loads of chocolate, caramel, tobacco and dark fruits. Ample hops to it as well. Smooth palate, with no alcohol showing at all. Excellent stuff.

Lovely bubbly tan head on black. Nose of cocoa, caramel, berries, soy, pine and licorice. Nicely fruity flavor with lots os citrus, berries, and of course chocolate. Interesting, like a huge Black IPA.

Dark brown color. Lots of molasses, dark chocolate, burnt raisins, fudge, alcohol so well hidden smooth. With oak. Slightly sweet. Amazing smooth beer. Fairly hoppy, with whisky, dark chocolate and dark fruit in the finish. Amazing. Amazing.
