06/10/2017 - big draught glass @ Gainsbar, Kortrijk (was told it had 6.2 ABV so I suppose it's the same as this one) Black colour with nice tanned head. Nose is soft roast, some chocolate, herbal touch. Taste is gentle roast, chocolate, some vanilla, no hints of wood but nice anyway

Hazy brown with thin head. Compared to the Cedar version this one is a bit softer and less roasted. These wood chips also seem to give a dryer aftertaste.

Sampled at Zythos 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours borwn, ok white head. Smell is unintense, taste is rather bitter, pretty deep. Roasty malts, aromatic. Nice, but not much woody character.

Sample @ Zythos’16, courtesy of and shared with the RB Belgian crew. Brune foncée, fin crémeux blanc-cassé. Arôme au nez malté, rétro grillé avec un boisé assez modéré, et pas certain que l’hêtre ajoute une dimension marquée. Niveau palais, je note zéro contribution en terme de boisé, et si cela est pour faire une expérience à la Bud, alors un stout est peut-être mal venu si le but était de marqué le côté levure. Retrouve un fini malté, cara grillé plus marqué avec une petite note amer qui semble être plus en évidence.

Brown color with small beige head. Aroma is roasted, ash, wood. Taste is bitter, roasted, dry. Low carbonation. Good!

From tap. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tqn head. Aroma is roasted malty, breadish and chocolate. Roasted, dark malty, roasted. Wooden and caramelish. Dry and roasted dark finish.

Trübes dunkel orange braunes Bier mit geringen leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Schokolade. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, bitter, Karamell, Schokolade.

Sampled @ ZBF 2016. (Thank you for sharing RB people!) Beechwood is what makes Budweiser great – what could go wrong here? (Yes I know the real reason by Budweiser uses beechwood). Dark brown, little tanned & small head. Nose is weird oily umami (heaviest of the series), herbal, gravy, only low cacao, not really getting any oak. Taste is weird tad dull herbal, licorice & gravy (biggest one for both), herbal, dull herbal licorice body. Sweetness is licorice, little cacao or brown sugar. Least one for me, okay still.

Clear hazelnut brown to purple beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, caramel, very yeasty, weird smell, rather sweet and sugary. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sweet, caramel, malty, dry, bit fruity, very bitter and hoppy. Aftertaste: bitter, bit metallic, sweet touch, chocolate, hoppy, coffee.
