Our Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.

Can.Slightly hazy pale amber with a loose white head. 3+ Aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, some hay, vague stone fruit. Yes, it’s pretty obvious there’s pineapple in it, but it meshes OK. An there’s less in the taste which allows the beer to dominate. It muddles the palate a little, but Sculpin is so light and clean anyway that the interesting way that the slight astringency joins in at the resinous end is a fair trade. Unlike the grapefruit one, I’d happily have this again.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of pineapple and fruity hops, some pine too. The flavour has also notes of pineapple, but this is still a well hopped IPA, and not pure pineapple juice. Very drinkable.

355ml bottle into shaker. Oh, yes smells like pineapple. There’s also malt and distant hops as well as leather and woodchips and cream and childhood lollies and........ Hazy golden beer with frothy white head and steady fine carbonation. Full body, bit of smooth zing. Hmmm, finish is typical Ballast point hoppy bitter excellence. Alcohol is dangerously hidden, you could drink this beer in one go, no problem. Pineapple non-existent apart from the aroma. Smooth, moreish.

From the bottle. The initial aroma is bright pineapple, lemon, and seltzer, with notes of pine, white bread, and clover honey. Sweet and grainy up front, with a serious bitterness. Light to medium body, crisp, and a little acerbic. A nice, citrusy IPA.

Can. A- Pineapple juice, pineapple upside down cake. A- Golden color, clear liquid, white head. T- Pineapple juice, pine, medium bitterness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Possibly my new favorite IPA. I could drink a ton of this in the summer. Sculpin was okay, Grapefruit Sculpin was good, this Sculpin is great! Amazing aroma and flavor. The pineapple doesn’t quite work perfect with the hops but it’s just too good not to enjoy it as a whole. Very tasty and refreshing. Just wish it was more readily available and cheaper.

Cans from Hoboken Vine. Pours unclear orange, frothy cream colored head, and some nice, drippy lace. Pineapple dominates the aroma, hops, citrus rind, and a bit of bread. Fruity, bitter flavor. malts don't come through much. Doesn't work quite as well as the grapefruit version, but it's still a pretty good fruit IPA.

Taster pour at Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America. Aroma is pineapple and fruit. Appearance is mild hazy gold with small white head. Taste is nice mix of bitter with sweet pineapple, and pine. Palate light bodied with creamy, frothy texture, soft to average carbonation and dry finish. Overall, strong enough fruit flavors to be distinctly different from standard Sculpin. Good.

Flaska från Galatea/Craftbeer. Smak och doft av humle, malt, passionsfrukt, citrus, mango med toner av ananas. Fruktig, juiceig, lagom sötma och fin beska med toner av citrusskal. Vill ha mer ananas!
