Our Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.

Golden with a white head - Fruity hop aroma and a pineapple hint as well - Malt body to support a hop profile that is fruity and has a good bitterness and there is some pineapple flavour as well - The hops goes into the finish with bitterness and there is some pineapple in the back - This was good

An orange amber ale with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, nice mix of pineapple and smooth resinous floral hops, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light pineapple, pleasant. On tap at Plattsburgh Brewfest 2016.

Draught at Monk’s American Bar, Stockholm, July 26. Slightly hazy, golden-amber colour with a thin, white head. Fruity aroma with pineapples, citrus, pines, floral hops, caramel malts and tropical fruits. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter with citrus fruits and pineapples. The addition of pineapple puree is indeed a good twist.

355ml bottle. Pours a clear orange-yellow with a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet, fruity, floral aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, mango, stone fruit and caramel malt. Sweet fruity flavour of pineapple, grapefruit, orange, mango, tangerine, lemon and caramel malt with a hoppy, dry, bitter, resiny finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Really nice.

Rich caramel tinted copper coloured body with a touch of haze and a nice, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of pineapple (duh), alcohol, earth, caramel, toffee, floral and grassy hops and a lot of sweetness noticeable from the fruits. Medium-bodied; Assertive pineapple flavour and sweetness noticeable at first that fades to more of a typical IPAish flavour with the hops dominating followed by the malts. Aftertaste shows more of a robust ale with malt and caramel coming through the pure biscuits and grain with a lot of the pineapple leftover. Overall, a nice fruit-based IPA that shows the tangents that can be made with simple hops and malt, but nothing crazy good nor worth searching high and low for. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Trader Joe’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 01-May-2016 for US$2,34 sampled at home in Washington on 26-July-2016.
