15 December 2021. At Makadam, Mechelen. Cheers to the lovely Anke!

Hazy dark brown to black, small, frothy, tan head. Aroma of plum, raisin, fig, caramel, pear syrup, milk chocolate, peanut. Taste has sweet fig, plum & pear in a syrupy, slightly nutty, toffee-malty body surrounded by spicy & herbal notes. Earthy hoppy finish, more dried fruit, toffee & warming liqueur-like alcohol. Medium body, slick-syrupy texture, average carbonation. Satisfying but rather sweet, and could have had just a tad more depth.

T: full malty base, cocoa, dark bread, bit chocolate, dried fruits, bit herbal, nutty, medium carbonation, ok not bad but not for the style beside this enjoyed.

750ml bottle split. Pours hazed chestnut brown with a beige head. Aroma: malt, caramel, red fruits, light sour. Taste light to moderate sweet & moderate bitter, bread, nuts, chocolate, dark fruits, earthy. Medium body, average carb, slightly sour on the finish. More like a sour stout than a bock to this unrefined palate

(Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, 17 Oct 2019) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with dark bread, raisins and toast. Malty taste with notes of dark bread, dried fruit, prunes, raisins, toast and a balanced spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced doppelbock. Quite nice.
