Bottle at L6, thanks to Tipple, 13/06/18. Rich chestnut brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is sweet malts, dark fruit rinds, booze, light black peppery spice, cocoa dusting. Taste comprises stewed fruits, booze, bourbon biscuit, fruit loaf, brown bread. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow barrel rip. Solid for the style but a little rough in places.

Bottle at L6. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is earthy, umami, wood, leather, spice, chewy, toffee, slick nd brown bread. The taste is slick, chewy, wood, brown bread, umami, marmite, spice, meaty, bitter, spice and some warming alcohol with a spice with a drying, chewy finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Very meaty, overly so.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Tipple. Pours clear brown with a frothy, off-white head. The nose holds burnt butterscotch, brown bread, earth. Medium sweet flavour with notes of caramel and toffee, well toasted brown bread, a little earth and honey. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming and oily in the finish, more toasted brown bread and caramel. Not bad.

Unclear, deep amber to brown colored, medium frothy beige head, nice lacing and good lasting. Aroma is malty, caramel, toffee and nutty notes, toast, vanilla bourbon, some alcohol notes. Taste is medium to very sweet malt, caramel, toffee, nuts, toast, light chocolate, lots of bourbon vanilla, moderate herbal hoppy bitterness, bit too much alcohol and warmth. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, oily to chewy.

Bottle at home. No head, but an appealing deep, dark brown colour. The nose was all vanilla and alcohol. The taste and mouthfeel were both extreme, massive vanilla, caramel and alcohol. After a few sips I realised that I really didn’t like the beer. It was just way too much of everything and, to me, it was unpleasant and sickly. Perhaps it needs time to mature in the bottle, but for me this was a step too far from the brewery.

330 ml. bottle. Purchased @ Malt Attacks. Bottled on 04/2014. Dark red copper amber, little tanned head. Nose is odd candy sweet with heavy caramel with light apple pie, dates, light blue cheese hops, even more caramel, cinnamon, sweet candy but oddly not thick. Taste is interesting heavy caramel, UK style malts, light blue cheese, dark fruits, plenty of dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, heavy on caramel malt, tad maple syrup, vanilla, odd very heavy caramel malt,… Oddly light, very heavy on caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, dates,… Huge caramel & sweet spices but no real bourbon taste to me. Way lighter body wise than expected for style & flavor,… Lighter caramel malt body,… Way too light to really carry the flavours. Odd beer as one would expect probably but pleasant still. I don’t think that this style is very suited for barrel aging but that again does beer geek really dig this style.
