This Oak Aged is copper brown in colour and its aroma is a mixture of muscatel aromas and Quadrupel. In addition to sweet honey, flowery meadows with almond and caramel, we also distinguish the aroma of muscatel wine and, of course, that of oak. This Quadrupel too has been lagered in barriques, most of which are burned on the inside. Out of all batches released so far, this batch has the smokiest and fullest flavour. The influence of Oloroso and Brandy barrels also has a distinct side-effect. Ultimately, the complex flavour is full, smooth and balanced. The aftertaste is that of wood tannins, smoke, almonds, dates and caramel, the latter giving this batch a bitter-sweet touch.

Tasting at Matt's; synthetic cork
Dark brown color. Nice aroma, fruity. No carbonation, hence the mouthfeel is quite oily; the flavor is shallow, some caramel, lot of fruitiness, the bitterness is absent, the alcohol is too evident.
Nice barrels, but shallow beer.

Bottle - Sweet golden raisin. Cloudy copper with a small head. Fig and golden raisin sweetness. Old and musty, probably past it’s prime.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny head. Nose is decadent, with lots of dried dark fruits, liqueur, toffee, and brown sugar. Flavour is complex as hell, with lots of Belgian yeast, brown sugar, dark dried fruits, red wine and liqueur barrels. Complex as hell, with a wonderful balance of flavours. Flat carbonation, which is the only critique I can offer. Excellent.

Hazy amber-brown. No head. The sort of oxidized fruit character you expect in a quad. Fairly strong wood note. Not that exciting on the nose, but the palate is a bit nicer. Lots of sugars light brown sugar, and then some dates, some brown sugar. Decent.

375 ml corked & caged bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10%. Cloudy brown colour, hardly any head. Strong aroma of oak, white wine barrel and brandy. Minimal carbonation. Very oaky flavour too, slightly sweet, notes of oxidised old wine / sherry, also brandy. Suffers under its lack of carbonation. A bit disappointing.

Shared with Koelschtrinker, Zlotta & Beerhunter111. Great wood and Brandy in the nose. Smooth beginning, wood with dust. The wood is fresh, roasted hints there, dust in the aftertaste.

Sampled from 0.375 l bottle from former ’Bierzwerg’ (online shop), bottled in June 2014. Slightly hazy, brownish amber with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly yeasty-spicy and a bit boozy aroma of caramel, raisins, vanilla and prunes. Very sweet, malty, slightly fruity and a little yeasty-spicy taste of caramel, oak, vanilla, honey, raisins and prunes, followed by a long, moderately bitter, quite warming, a bit boozy and slightly yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good!

Süßer Geruch. Im Antrunk nussig nach Mandeln, deutlich holzig, hell malzig. Im Anschluss Noten von Karamell, eher süffig-würzig, die deutlichen Holznoten bleiben vorhanden. Gut. 9/10/9/9/11/9
