Spiciness from the rye and a subtle smokiness from German beech smoked malt, produce a beer that can only be described as savoury. When you're in that mood that calls for something different, but you can't quite put your finger on it, this is that beer.

Draft at the Saffrons taproom. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is big smoky bacon. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, malty, light toffee, salty, smoky, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Lightly sweet with restrained smoked malt, some whole grain bread, light leafy bitterness, honeyed ham. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation; fair condition. Finishes with meaty and lightly smoked malts, toffee accents. Enjoyable beer.
