Bottle of a couple of years old, thanks Christophe for sharing. Commissioned Lefebvre tripel with thick, coarse, bubbly, snow white, thickly cobweb-lacing head and hazy peach blonde colour with vivid fizz. Aroma of dried apricot, dried orange peel, slight banana, bread, hay, biscuit, old dry cookies, potato starch, baker’s yeast, some ’natural’ iron, a bit of coriander seed and a touch of cardboard probably due to ageing. Crisp, fruity, sweetish onset but not as sweet as the other raters describe (probably due to extended bottle refermentation), estery with light banana along with peach and apple peel, sourish citrussy touch, spritzy carbo, bready and caramelly malt middle with lightly bitterish toasted edge, earthy finish with some grassy and spicy hop bitterishness, floral retronasal aromas, yeasty and fruity, some vaguely onsetting oxidation as well as lightly lingering coriander. Decent but stereotypical Lefebvre beer and most likely an alias, of Moeder Overste perhaps?

Clear golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, honey, candy sugar. Light bitter, quite sweet flavour. Finish candy sugar, malts and light marzipan. (from 75cL bottle @ RBBWG III, Gent. Shared by sebletitje. Thanks, Seba!)

Bouteille 75cl achetée directement à la confrérie. BB 29/01/2015.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Sebletitje. Light golden with an egg-white head. Nose is sweet & sugary, overly heavy with white sugar, cornflakes and caramel. Taste is overly sweet & sugary, cornflakes, white sugar, apple, caramel, grains,… Touch higher carb. Not my thing.

Clear blond beer, big creamy white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very yeasty, bit plastic, honey, dried fruits, very sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, yeast, citrus, spicy, more yeast, coriander, alcohol. Aftertaste: some alcohol, spices, yeast, banana, bitter touch.
