A big fresh fruity nose with grass and apricots. The American hops provide a punchy fruity hops foreground taste. Tropical fruit, mango, orange, lemon and lime are all there in addition to classic grapefruit elements. Apricots and solid biscuit, chewy caramel malt provide a solid backdrop to a great sweet, hoppy imperial.

aroma of caramel, hops, alcohol, and dried fruits, such as figs, and dates. Flavor is quite boozey, but enoyable. The hops mix well with the caramel malt flavors.

Tasting at SF, Vancouver, can; 11.9% ABV
Hazy amber color. Some nutty aroma, vanilla, toffee; the flavor is a bit more nutty, and moderately boozy.

Tall can (thx, Alex G.!) at Brian's office. Pours a hazy amber with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, candied oranges, fruity oranges. Similar taste with moderate to high bitterness. An ok.

Light amber-brown. Not much head. The aroma has a fair bit of booziness, some toastiness, and a hit of both brown sugar sweetness and a touch of figs.

Thick syrupy, very full bodied, almost like an IIPA. Some citrus and caramel notes. Not great balance, not great depth, but ok. Kinda what barely wines were commonly like 10 years ago. Ok.

2011 bottle (it appears -- scratched label) via a trade. Pours with a extremely dark brown, bordering on a black body with a lasting, off-white head with pretty solid lace. Mild alcohol legs above the legs. Excellent retention. Aromas are of brown sugar, maple, malty, caramel, floral, marmalade, toffee, citrusy/orangey hops. Vanilla, deeply bready, mild oxidation. Flavors are very sweet, bordering and perhaps fully cloying! Brown sugar, molasses, candied citrus and marmalade. Vanilla, boozy, strong ethyl alcohol, medium bitter. A lot of sharp alcohol and esters. Smooths a bit after volitization and warming. Brandy. Dried figs, bitter. Syrupy body. Low carbonation. Burnt and warming.
