Bottle . Pours rather unclear dark blond to amber . Very big white head . Smell is malty grains , tad sweet ( barely ) . Not so intense . Taste is bit botter, aromatic sweet maltyness ( which is very nice , in fact ) . Slightly metallic, in a good way . very pleasant taste, and rather easy drinkable in general .

Strong tripel version of Crombé’s classic Oud Zottegems, since 1990, made at Strubbe since Crombé lost its brewing license. Deep cloudy peach blonde colour, thinnish off-white head; aroma had citrus peel, yeast, grass, pale malts, some cardboard; fruitiness in onset, citrus peel, yeasty and somewhat caramelly palate, herbal hop finish with warming alcohol. I might have had an old bottle at the time but I’m not sure this is still made now?

Strong Belgian blond beer, with a crispy taste of aroma hop, herbs and of course malt. Nice one.

Taste: bit sourish, bitter hops, grassy, bit medicinal, sweet notes, bit sugary. Aftertaste: bitter, spicy, lots of orange peel, some liquorish, bit watery, sweet touch. Very balanced Belgian.

Cloudy brown beer, small off white head. Softish dry palate with a carbonated bite. Sweet malt with sharp minerals. Dust. Whispers of fruit and bubblegum. Messy.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - date on the cap says 08-07, at Pikkulintu, 20120817) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had raisins, dried plums, caramell and malts. Palate was medium bodied and very dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were raisins, malts, sweetness and very low bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and lightly bitter. An interesting experience. The beer was not bad but it would be nice to know how this one had tasted while being fresh.

33cl from Dranken Geers, BB 04/2013.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, deep golden to amber colour with a tall and slightly off-white foamy head. Initially rather discreet aroma, later slightly vinous fruity nose with a tinge of citrus and gooseberry, as well as shy notes of cara-malt and musty yeasty notes. Slightly sweet and sour flavour, just medium bodied with a rather calm carbonation. Fruit-accented, slightly vinous taste with cara-malt, mildly woody hops and a tinge of spices; slightly sweet and delicately sour-fruity finish with an elegantly hoppy touch. Complex and rounded brew. 15.X.11

Cloudy dark orange / light amber colored beer, doesn’t really look appealing to me. Smell and taste were decent though and the beer has nice carbo and a good firm body.
