Bottled. Pitch black colour with a creamy white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is peated, some coffee, liquorice, mild alcohol and some slight spiciness. Flavour is wooden, some coffee, peat, liquorice, chocolate and mild spiciness with some wood too. Big, bold and a nice long sweetish wooden aftertaste with the peat coming through nicely too.

Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 opening dinner - CBC Clapham. Pours deep amber with a creamy, tan head. Big and sweet beer, with lots of stewed fruits and caramel, some peat presence, alcohol warmth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet with pleasant peat smokiness, earth and toffee. Good.

RBESG pt 1. Craft Clapham. Bottle courtesy of Rene. Hazy brown - amber beer, good pale cream - tan colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Mild fruity tang, mellow TCP. Mild spice. Comes together well because the peat is light and not overdone. Finishes light with a mild spicy linger.

Bottle thanks to Rene. It pours cloudy deep mahogany brown with a small beige head. The nose is sweet, cherry cola, candy, dark fruit, doctor pepper, jam, smoked peat and wood. The taste is rich, earthy, dark fruit, candy, cherry cola and light roast, whisky, earth and dried cranberry. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Very tasty.

0.66l bottle from trade with Martinus! Big thanks mister! My bottle says it's a 10 percenter. The pour on this is really deep and lovely looking ruby brown and it has a medium sized deep grey almost brown looking head on top. Looks really good. In the aroma I get a really nice not to kick-you-in-the-teeth-strong smokiness and peatiness. Dark old tary rope that has been picked of a pirate ship. A bit of tobacco and there is even some red berries in here. Nice rich smoky nose. Lots and lots of flavor here. It has a good oily mouthfeel and a below average almost prickling carbonation level. Where to begin? On the clear but not disturbingly sourness perhaps? A bit like sour raspberries blended with lots of ashy deep smoke and wood. Lots of that ashes actually and it has a light but not to overpowering sweetness. Not sure what I expected, but I definitely thought it would be more peaty. It's super salty as well. This actually suits me just fine right about now. A bit of white licorice and it has more sweet concentrated red berries in the aftertaste. Shockingly well masked alcohol for being a 10 percent beer. Lots of things going on here, and I quite enjoyed this one. 21.10.2013
