Bottle generously shared by Pedro. Pours an ever so slightly hazy straw color with aromas of funk, horse blanket, bandaid, and lemon. Flavor is alright at first but there is an aftertaste that is pretty lousy. Kind of a nice sour and lemony mid section and then descends into bandaid or earwax or something. I want to like this but it just isn't my favorite.

0.375 l bottle from 'Het Huis van de Geuze', bottled in November 2023. Sweetish, sourish, rather fruity, gently funky and slightly vinous aroma of overripe lemon, vinegar, hay, gooseberry, brett and white grapes. Slightly sweet, quite sour, rather fruity, gently funky and slightly vinous taste of overripe lemon, gooseberry, hay, white grapes, brett and vinegar, followed by a medium long, fairly tart, slightly woody-dry finish. Medium body, quite astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. A little too citric for my liking, a bit too much vinegar as well, therefore a bit unbalanced.

(Bottle) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of citrus, grapefruit, oak wood, grapes and barnyard. Fruity, tart taste with citrus, grapefruit, grapes, oak wood, barnyard, apricots and a dry and tart finish with no bitterness. Almost full body, quite dry. Rich and tasty, with a fresh acidity and a good grape character. Very nice.

Musty grape, lemon, malt, vinegar, and dry hay aroma. Hazy golden yellow with minimal head. Dry musty grape, lemon, biscuit malt, mildly sour vinegar, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Good body. Pleasant.

Aromas are caramel, green apples and grapes, brett. Flavors are somewhat similar to but not as good as knows. Mildly tart and dry, loses the caramel. Decent but kind of generic in a Belgian fashion.

Pale amber, not much head. Leathery, complex, grapey, there’s a slightly syrupy note, good balanced barrel. Off-dry, grassy and leathery.

375mL bottled April 2022, drunk 12/26/24.
Clear, bright golden-brass-maize. Somewhat large, off-white head quickly fades to cover.
Grape acids with moderate lactic character, mild oak and scant Brett. Not a very lively maltiness or wheatiness. But clean with no sign of acetic. Not all that funky. Mostly just austere lactic character.
Pretty hard lactic character, albeit not that sour or palate-wrecking. Lots of grape and some minor wheat and oak textures. I do appreciate the restraint on the sourness, but it just tastes like grapes and lactic acidity with an afterthought of oak. Not all that much flavor, complexity, no real Brett and very little, of any, funk. Incredibly disappointing and all the worse for being $15.99 / 375mL.

2.5oz. Appearance: almost clear golden with a white head. Aroma: very funky, bold, not much grapes noticed. Taste: along the same lines, lots of funk, minerals, horse blanket. Overall: good lambic, but it definitely lacks grapes presence.

4-2022 bottle from Total Wine. Pours a clear straw gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Brett-focused nose with wet hay, cobwebs, wet wood, oak and mild lychee notes as it warms. Palate is very similar with lots of brett funk, mineral, lychee and touch of citrus. Finishes dry with some light bitterness and mild tannic notes that linger.
